Has anyone had success using PowerPoint and YouTube

Hi,

Has anyone had success getting traffic using PowerPoint to create videos on YouTube and other Video Search sites?

Does anyone know of a good training series on how to do it correctly?

Thanks

    Hey scott,

YES! I'm actually planning on hosting a live webinar next Thursday teaching just this depending on if everything goes smoothly.

Will this be a free webinar or part of a paid training?

If free/public, I would like a link to it.

I've used powerpoint for a sales video on my site before. It seemed effective since a lot of people are getting convinced with that AFTER I have uploaded it versus not having any video in the site before.

  • Hi

A great little free application I have used to convert Powerpoint slides into video is created by Xilisoft (just put the name into Google and you should be able to find it).

It greatly simplifies and speeds up the process in my experience.

    All the best.

    Hi Scott,

It depends on what type of videos you want to
make and then upload to youtube.

You can create them from scratch in powerpoint, or you can
create videos out of articles you already have.

If you are using video sites as another avenue
of distributing your content, that is the easiest way.

    Hope that helps?

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

Yes, using PowerPoint to create Youtube videos has been going on since the first day Youtube stated in 2005. So apparently, some people are having some success with it.

It's great for lectures, tutorials, article-to-videos, sales videos, product reviews, instructions, website tours, small businesses, and just about anything else you want to make a video about.

One of the great things about PowerPoint or Keynote (for Mac) is that when you plan out your video using one of the programs, it actually forces you to be organized, coherent, and direct - which all add value to the viewing experience.

Once you have your slides laid out, then just run the presentation while recording it using Camtasia or Screenflow (for Mac), then bring it into a project and add your audio. You will find your videos becoming more and more professional with every attempt, so good luck.

The newer versions of PowerPoint and Camtasia make an incredible combo pack capable of putting out just about any kind of multimedia piece you can imagine -- and fast !

Just to clarify because there seems to be a lot of confusion on this...

If you are using PowerPoint 2010 (I HIGHLY recommend it for making videos!) you DO NOT need Camtasia to create slide videos.

Here's a full HD sample I made for a client entirely in PowerPoint using just a crappy audio file from him and exported from PPT 2010:

That being said, I often use Camtasia to do final edits, add multiple music or sound effect track and produce out if I need MP4 Flash video...

It can certainly work, although in my experience all the hype about YouTube being better than anything else is false. Yes, it's worth doing as one of your traffic/backlinking strategies.

No need to find a course on doing it, just pick relevant images, do a voice-over if you can, and use a free powerpoint to video converter. If you want a course that will really help, get one one how to get more traffic to Youtube, as there are a lot of tricks that can be applied (my traffic book details them, (that comes as part of my PLR package, see my sig.)).
