    Hi Vivi,

I am not very experienced with building a list but I love thinking outside of the box... Have you ever tried making business cards or flyers with a free gift giveaway for someone to visit the website and fill in their e-mail address? For example... A lot of women love going to a spa, why not wait in the parking lot when women are leaving the spa and hand out some flyers with your free offer regarding beauty massage therapy etc... If you can offer them something for free regarding what they are interested in... chances are they will visit your website and sign up for the mailing list to receive the free item... this way you now have targeted leads on your mailing list and you know what type of products they will like since they came from a spa!!!

Let me know what you think

    Sincerely,

    Peter W.

Looks like you've pretty muched said them all.

However I would say this is more about listbuilding than building a relationship with your list.

Yes, the title needs to be changed. There are quite a few on there that actually work against building a responsive list.

You never mentioned JV giveaways! Great for building your list, as for building a relationship with them, don't just offer them tons of products, write the email like you were writing to a good friend, and if you can't find any quality stuff for them, think about sending them links to interesting articles or forum posts that could help them out! Do not over promote!

Getting subscribers is the easier part of building a list.

The REAL work (and challenge) is having an effective
process in place to create a RESPONSIVE list.

The 17 methods you've outlined are really focused on
how to get subscribers rather than how to make them
      responsive.

        I agree with Shaun 100%.
Converting your list into buyers is quite a task. A Responsive list is
What you should be after. To have such a responsive list you need
To focus on some key elements.

1- Branding( they need to know you & LIKE you)
        2- Trust
        3-Rapport
        4-Connection
        5- Value (Always over deliver)
6- Influence ( get inside their head and force them to buy)

        Yes,

A responsive list is key, period. Why build a list if they don't buy anything or even open your emails or click on your links? I think it partly comes down to refining what one's point is with building the list. What is the end action or series of actions you want the subs to take.

        And then trial and error.

I could build a list of 1000 by tomorrow (seriously) of untargeted subs and I could do it for $100 (I've tested this), but they would basically be worthless to what I currently have set up funnel-wise, so there is absolutely no point. I couldn't use them to sell solos or to do swaps or to market to because they don't click on sh*t.

So in my opinion and experience, it totally depends on what your goal is and how your funnel is set up.

hey vivi62 thanx for sharing your strategies on building a subscriber list.... but... your title of the thread says "17 methods i use to build a responsive list" ... building a responsive list is completley different.

love the strategies though and glad you shared them with us ive learnt a few new startegies from yourself now awesome ... just getting your list to be responsive is the challenge thats down to relationship building and getting your list to trust you to buy from you then your subscribers head to another list which are the buyers.

What is a good way to build a responsive list? Can anyone give away a successful method we can all build on? Do you go about first building a list of just a bunch of people or do you target niche specific people and try to get them to subscribe to your list? Has anyone tried advertising free offers on facebook ads to build their list? For example: Free Spa Secrets - Get your free ebook now... then someone who is interested sees the advert and clicks the link and hits your landing page.. they sign up to receive their free product and u got them as an interested subscriber who is interested in spa stuff no?

I have $375 that I want to invest in a program or rinse and repeat method that will make me money... Can anyone recommend anything or any technique or method they use? Can they teach me step by step to replicate that same process? I will pay and partner to work together with you for the long term, just looking to get a kick start so I can start seeing money for the work I put in. The best way is to learn something step by step and replicate a system... if it works you can easily get others on board and create a training website where you charge a membership to teach them step by step, anyone interested in helping one another out? I am interested in how I can obtain a responsive list, I know you can buy targeted leads that will automatically subscribe for $0.33 cents you get 1 targeted lead and the more you purchase the cheaper the price... I think I will try that using getresponse.com

A reverse opt-in (at least my definition) is where you
give away the content for free without forcing people
      to opt-in beforehand.

However, you do include the option for the person to
      subscribe later in the process.

For example, a reverse video squeeze page is one where
you can watch the video right there on the squeeze page
      without needing to opt-in.

The idea, is that people get to see the content for free
and then decide to opt-in later if they want to.

    HI gaston,
the method I use as reverse opt in is

    Reverse Opt-in Form

Another way I generate about 10% of my website traffic to my list on a sales page is using a reverse opt-in form.

This is where someone clicks on the “Add to Cart” button or an “Order Now” button and then you have a page between your sales page and your order form.

That page in between will be a Step 1 of 2 order confirmation form.

So at the top is will say, “Step 1 of 2 Order Confirmation,” then they’ll have to put in their email address to continue.

This is a Reverse Opt-in Page.

You want to grab the email address here so that everybody who buys your product are already on your list.

Also, the people who pass on your product, you’ll have them on your list and they’re also very high quality subscribers to have on your list that almost buy; for some reason they are.

So you might find that the majority of people who actually opt in to that form won’t even order, but you’ll end up generating a lot more subscribers from your sales page by doing that.
You will see how all these leads add up by promoting to a sales page by using all the factors we’re talking about here.

Because if you’re getting 20% opt in rates from doing exit pop ups and you’re getting another 10% from doing reverse opt in forms, then you are generating an extra 30% of people to your list during a launch.

      Hey there Vivi..

To help you out better, what type response are you aiming for? Do you want people to share their experiences with the product? Or do you want establish a better relationship to be able to sell more expensive items? Or are you aiming towards building a more mutual working business relationship?

I'm just thinking that perhaps the method is just right under your nose, well that is if its more like what outlined. If this is so, then perhaps you what you do is a new list where you get those who wants to be in the responsive list can apply to! Maybe make the transition a bit more catagorized, so you make 2 new lists, one for the ones who want to apply for your "Talk-back program"
and one for your business prospects/affiliates! So in the first mail you send out you announce that you're going to implement something new, a talk-back program, or call it something different, but basically just so the subscriber knows they now get a possibility to actually communicate with you and share some thoughts on the products. Depends on what you outline of course. But you tell those who want to join the talk-back list can do so [here - insert link].

This is to establish a relation with the subscriber. Then once the relation is established and you have a general idea about the person, the you can have that particular person opt-in to the second list. Which is a list for all of your potential business prospects.

I hope this was helpful to you, or at least that you can use it to get closer to your goal.

I got involved with a program for which I created a squeeze page that uses reverse marketing. You recruit 4 people and you pass up the second and fourth, and you keep the first and second. And the members that are passed up to you keep on sending you members which go up by the multiplier of 2. It is quite a fascinating system. You could take the pass ups and put them into your autoresponder and voila. You have started a list. Of course, you need to find the people who are good marketers. It has worked for some people. For me, I just have a few. I just thought to give you this piece of information and hope I have been helpful!
I just saw this after I had posted and thought I'd do a little comment on it! What you're talking about is really the same concept as MLM - Multi Level Marketing - a system I'm very familiar with. The good thing is that this system is quite simple to implement online! However I'm not sure thats what she is after, since she wanted a responsive list, not a just to have a list that is multiplying it self!
