New Feature in GetResponse Subscribtion Via Facebook Account

Hi Warrrios,

I got an email from getreponse that they've created the" Subscribe Via Facebook Web Form" feature.

Do you think this will increase the conversions? Visitors do not need to enter their name and mail address.

Thanks.

I have no idea how effective that method is going to be, but this is what I think of it. Lately, I haven't been receiving any emails at all from Facebook regarding the activity in my account. Earlier, they used to send emails when someone would PM you, when you were invited to an "event", when you were tagged in a pic, but they don't do it anymore.

I suppose, by the subscribe via Facebook feature you get Facebook email addresses added to your list. In case you don't know, your Facebook account is also your FacebookEmail account. I have never tried emailing anyone with an "myname@facebook.com" email address. I wonder if this feature will really get the emails of the subscribers, or their Facebook emails.

I had seen something similar on mailchimp.com once, but when I tried to install it, it was all a big mess, and I just gave it up.

Moreover, we'll have to wait and see how the users react to getting subscribed to a newsletter without their knowledge.

    Hi Raindance,

The form will use the email address they signed up with Facebook for and not their FB message account. As well, the user can of course, enter another email if they so choose. Also, this is not a case of signing anyone up "without their knowledge" - the user has to actually click to be added.

I still get email updates from FB daily, but that really doesn't have anything to do with this

It's similar to allowing people to register for a service online using their FB account -- you see this on comments and many other services.

The point is to make it even easier to sign up for your newsletter. Giving people more options is a good thing.

    Regards,
    jim
