Is this domain worth anything: three letter .net. 110,000 exact google searches?

There is a problem though, there is a .com version that is in fact a very popular Chinese website. I don't speak the language. It gets this many searches because of the popularity of the .com, not the domain name itself. Is there a way to benefit from this kind of traffic? Thank you.

Usually short words or a few letters get a lot of searches for typos or just random typing through google, however make sure it's not a trademark, it's worthless to develop it as all the google searches maybe for the main .com website or brand.

put the content related to searches. Provide what people are looking for...
    involve user and promote it.

Sell it to the Chinese as no one wants a competitor. )

Use this suggestion if you want to capitalize on the traffic. Give the visitors what they are looking for.

Yeah, you could definitely sell it to the big Chinese business!
Big corporations always buy multiple domains to get all of the traffic they can.

If he's holding onto a trademark then i highly doubt he can monetize it to compete against the main site.

However you may park it and send them an email whether they would be willing to purchase the domain, there are many resources out there on how to right good formal letters.

    Good luck buddy,

I doubt anyone will type in the .net name as opposed to the .com and as far as the domain worth goes, imo it'll be worth reg fee, if you had the .com name and they were using the .net, that would have been a completely different story.

Have you tried using adsense and CPA to monetize the traffic?

It is worth way more than reg fee reguardless.

a 3 letter .net LLL.net not a 3 character .net will definitely be worth something on its own. Easily at least mid $xxx last time I checked if not into $xxxx

I would be careful trying to ride their coattails. Even if they do not have a registered TM you could still run into legal issues.

Personally I would figure out some other use for it an ignore the existing site.

If you are determined to profit from the Chinese traffic... One thing you might consider is that if most of the people searching for those 3 characters are Chinese, you might come up with some unrelated, but useful website / resource for Chinese people, that they might stumble into and find worth visiting / sharing. Although this might be more hassle than it is worth.

    Good luck.

I will register any 3 letter .net domain any day if its ever available. But all 3 character .net domains have been registered long time ago and no owner is careless to drop it since these types of domains can be sold for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars.
