What to create out of AREA code domain name?

Hello,

I've been sitting on a high level premium domain name for 7 years now... never really done anything with it. It's an area code... for an important city might i add... something like 212.com (that's not it, just an example).

I've been building and selling websites for a while now, but I never wanted to sell this domain or build anything on it because I felt it was too important to consume or let go (I'm sure you know exactly what I mean).

My question to you is what should I build with this domain name? Ideas I have contemplated are:

1) Do nothing with it, just sell it and cash out.
2) Build a Local Business directory (with an areacode.com as domain name would be quite awesome)
3) Local Classified Ads
4) A city portal kind of website... (what to do, where to eat, attractions)
5) City Job board
6) Local dating site

These ideas seem appropriate for an areacode.com domain name, and they can be monetized in various ways so no problem there...

Which do you recommend? Do you have another idea maybe? I would love to hear it! Thank you very much guys.

How much do you really know about building and marketing websites?

Do you think you can build it up to be worth more than selling it to someone than can build it up to be huge?

I have what I consider a really good domain name in the video game niche. It could really be big, but I don't think I could build it to it's true potential. I think I am just going to try to sell it to someone (for a premium price) and let them do something with it.

Yeah i've been pretty cheesed off that someone is sitting uselessly on 941.com and wants a minimum offer of $100,000. However not cheesed off enough to give up - there's only a million combos that are close enough to 941.com to be far more profitable than that person is getting with that parked domain.

PS forgot to mention - you could very easily do a local blog with local contributors, news / events / reviews - and charge advertising to local businesses, do local reviews, get local coupons, etc. City Portal kind of deal yeah.

I would go for #1 if the opportunity presents itself. If not go with #3 and use it to incorporate all the other ideas... like craigslist.
