Question about article placement on my site -- can you help?

Does it matter if my own website's articles go on a blog page or static page?

I'm setting everything up and it seems simpler to post them on a static page with thumbnails that link to another static page with the full-length article . . . but I don't know if I should be posting them blog-style instead.

Thanks for any help!

It doesn't matter at all if you use post or page.
Personally, I use both. I use page for the most important articles and set them up as separate pages linked to on the navigation or side bar.
I use posts for daily articles I write that are supplemental to the site.
Another thing is whether you want your home page to have a static page or blog style. The blog style in wordpress will show your posts, and not your pages.

Another thing is that you can't put pages into categories. You can only put posts in categories. Something to consider when your site gets a little larger and categories are essential for clean organization of your site.

      This is great, thank you.

It is very simple if you have blog and you are using wordpress so when you open your admin account you will see at the left side wordpress provides you to see all post and here you see what ever you have posted on your website a list of articles, even you can see draft articles as well which you have not published yet. Here when your click on post button you see the button of 'Add new' when you click it simple a page will open with title bar and body of your article so write your title and copy article in the text box and at the right side press the publish or update button your new post become published and updated by you on your website and atomatically it will come to your selected categories and if you have site map on your blog.
