ALL Warriors Need to Read This

Hello Warriors,

Something amazing happened very recently that you all need to know about.

Just a few short weeks ago, I reached out to TONS of Warriors, asking them to help me compile a product to launch as a WSO. My goal was to help raise money for a close family to mine whose 6-year-old daughter Addison has liver cancer.

(I don’t even know how a 6-year-old could GET cancer.)

The response was exactly what I expected from fellow Warriors: extremely generous, selfless, supportive, and encouraging.

Over 50 Warriors have donated some of their best products to this cause. This was an offer created BY Warriors and FOR Warriors, and we all banded together to do good and help make an impact on the life of a family in need.

I can proudly say that as of now we’ve currently raised over $12,000 for Addison and her family. We’ve almost reached the $15,000 goal I set when I put this together.

(Yes – it would be appropriate to clap that up...)

Here’s a picture of one of the best moments in my life, and I’d like to share with everyone... Doing this and being able to apply what I know online and be able to help out this family (even in this way) has been one of the most rewarding things in my life.

And being fellow Warriors, I want you to share this awesome thing with me:

above: Erin (Addison's mom), Me (Tom Ness), and Steve (Addison's dad)

...And that's only the first part of the payment! (I gave them what I had at the time for
a local fundraiser for Addison )

So now let me ask you something:

You’re a member on this forum. You’re a Warrior. But are you PROUD to be one?

When we come together for a cause, this is the kind of thing we can collectively do.

Forget the dollar amount for a second. Realize this:

Using what we know, WE have the power to affect and change lives.

THAT is the “bigger picture”.

So in the process of your day to day activities, never forget that bigger picture.

Think about that. Don’t just think about the money you can make with focused determination. Think about what you can do with it.

YOU can make a difference, so when's the last time you tried to?

To All Of Us,
-Tom Ness

I gotta say this really seems amazing. It's good to know with all the bad going on that there are people out there that are still generous and wholly good people. I say a big clap for everyone here!

Congratulations on the success of your charity drive. It sounds like you are making a difference in the lives of that family.

While honest charity WSOs, such as yours, are a good thing, it is important to be vigilant about those that aren't so legitimate. Some dishonest folks can easily ask for a product donation from many warriors, set up a WSO, make a ton of sales, and keep the money (and the list they built from it).

Before contributing or buying, you should make sure you know who you are dealing with and if their intentions are good.

Again, Tom, great job making a difference. Everybody else, stay vigilant and be careful. Not everybody is honest.

      Thanks man!

And you're totally right... There's definitely a possibility of that happening (more than a possibility).

With that being said, I'd like to mention a couple things I now know of from organizing this event that YOU as a buyer can look for as signals that it's a legit charity:

      1) You have the option of making donations directly to the family and through a credible site. Addison's family is using CaringBridge.org, as an example. We can all tell a credible site from a scam one, by now.

      2) Google the specific person that the money is being raised for. Do your due diligence in seeing if that person is REAL, and if the information in the WSO/product matches what you find. (And make sure it's based on a credible site, as per #1 above.)

In short, spend 30 seconds checking it out.

That being said, thanks again for the words, I'm really proud of what we managed to pull off here for this family

While there are some dishonest ones that pop up, they don't seem to be the rule here, and plenty of people see through them before they become a runaway success. I've seen and participated in some amazing fundraising WSOs for Warriors and by Warriors who suffered from life threatening disease. The response has always been heartwarming and a real inspiration as to what can be done when you combine the efforts of the good people in this forum.

  • Hi Tom,

Thanks so much for sharing this!! What an accomplishment!! I am so happy for Addison and her family. You have worked really hard to make this happen and thanks to all of the contributors to this event. When you see how Warriors rally together it really makes me proud to be one!!

I agree that there are many dishonest people who scam people but I can honestly say that if Tom Ness is involved then you can totally believe in it and feel confident that your donation is going where it is said to go.

Thanks again for sharing with us Tom!!

    Sounds like a SMASHING success!

I find it really, really strange...because the
more you give... without expecting anything
in return, the universe seems to GIVE things
    back to you!

It's like some mystical law of reciprocity!

That's right - we have the power to change
lives... and that starts with the giving spirit.

Yeah, I'm totally happy for you.

    Congrats!

Tom, that's amazing! You know, that's what it's all about! Too often we focus on "getting" and simply forget to "give" too; I was taught growing up that there is always someone who is worse off than you are... We are all truly blessed. Great post!

        Thanks for the words, everyone!

Thinking about giving back and what YOU can do is an important thing.. It makes you feel good about yourself, self-fulfilled. It's an incredible feeling, and I hope others take it to heart and look beyond what's in it for them and realize that they can do amazing things for others.

Tom Ness is one of those special young men who can inspire those of all ages to do remarkable things. After reading his impassioned pleas to help Addison, I jumped in to do my part, making videos, writing emails, posting on FB, inviting members of Social Media Examiner's Networking Clubs to join Warriors in helping Addison in her fight for life... just passing the word along as best I could. (I urge you to do whatever is in your heart to do also, while there's still time).

Bumping brains with Tom, I realized there was a lot I could do with all the IM tools I had at my disposal... something I had not taken the time to do before. I'm so glad Tom shared Addison's plight with us and so glad so many responded in such a beautifully selfless way.

Because of sweet little Addison Faith, my faith in "true community" was greatly restored. My prayer for her is that the love and money so generously shared by our Warriors here with little Addison can truly be of some comfort and help to this little wee-one and her family during this heart-wrenching time.

Thank you, Tom, for gifting us all with your big heart. We are ALL the better for it!

Couldn't decide if a Freddy Mercury or Good Guy Greg better suited you, so I'm going with both. This may be one of the coolest things I have seen on this forum, period. If there were more people willing to go to the lengths that you did...well the world would be a lot better.
