For a good laugh - a spun version of my Warrior Forum article

I posted an article in the Articles section of this forum, and faster than a speeding bullet, it showed up in mangled form on someone's blog. Here's the spun version:

Near always when I am conversation to someone who wrinkles their chemoreceptor at online sales pages with outlandish, unfearing red headlines and blown paragraphs of hot air, I afterwards discover (or already knew) that this human is an retract - someone who prefers to fall punt in ethnic situations, enjoys disbursal case solo and is not a unbleached showoff.

In the parthian few days, I've presented whatever thought to why introverts bounce from techniques that are commonly labelled "hype."
Would any human being stick around to read the rest of this nonsense?

The original (at http://www.warriorforum.com/articles...hate-hype.html) went like this:

Almost always when I am talking to someone who wrinkles their nose at online sales pages with outlandish, bold red headlines and breathless paragraphs of hot air, I later learn (or already knew) that this person is an introvert - someone who prefers to hang back in social situations, enjoys spending time alone and is not a natural showoff.

In the last few days, I've given some thought to why introverts recoil from techniques that are commonly labeled "hype."
Is it worth trying to get the nonsense version of my article taken down from the blog in question? Or at least getting my name taken out of the nonsense version?

    "wrinkles their chemoreceptor"! Brilliant! lol.

Sorry, that's a bit of a pointless comment, but that one sentence cracked me up somewhat

When that happens to me I do one of two things:

If it contains a link back that I don't want (because it's on a rubbish site that could harm my site) or I'm in a bolshy mood, I'll issue a C&D notice

If it's complete rubbish on a site with few backlinks and there's a comments section then sometimes I leave a comment to the effect that this is a badly spun version of my article which can be found at (insert link here)

With a spin that looks that bad, how did you know it went to someone else's site?

Nothing I hate more than a wrinkled chemoreceptor. Although discovering a human retract is a close second.

I don't really think so. I tend to ignore these, if I do find them ...

Are you sure it is spun? It could have been human edited by one of the less fluent english members in this forum. At least the english in some threads would support my theory.

In "fairness", the purveyors of this stuff have absolutely no intention of any human ever reading it, it's all search-engine fodder, nothing more.

Have you ever set up an RSS feed based on a search term (similar to a Google Alert, but via RSS) to alert you to certain keywords in News or Blogs that might interest you? You wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of junk there is in there - I think there is more spun crap than there is proper content...

This sounds like a 30 day move out notices that we get when people going to move out of the building we manage.

Or is it a request to fix taps that have been leaking for close to a month, and now you have to do repairs. Due to water damage.

The synonyms in the spun version are a bit too much for the average reader to process so I wouldn't worry.

The original is much more reader friendly.

That's a good idea. In fact, I'm actually taking you up on this right now. I hope I don't fall punt though, because I fell punt once before when I was drinking and almost broke my chemoreceptor.

Wow, here is another golden nugget.

I was actually looking up "advantages of bullets" (in the realm of copywriting, not guns) and found this butchered passage spun by persons unknown and attributed to Warrior Forum member Ray Edwards:

Bullets get a divorce your replica into quick, readable bursts. Specially on the net, individuals tend to test replica before they examine it; breaking your benefits into bullets increases the possibilities your copy will " trap the eye" and hence get study.
What the heck is this "divorce"? And what is the "replica"??

          this human is an retract
...is that the same one who wrinkled their chemoreceptor? If so I could perhaps understand why they would retract. If not, I just don't get it:rolleyes:

You might attempt to get your name off of it but most people won't read far enough to see it.

I once ordered an article and link package. The first article was baaaaaad. So I told them to use one of my articles off the site. They decided to rewrite the article anyway which turned out to be a cerebral mish mash of multi-syllabic grammatically correct verbiage of almost unintelligible dimensions. hahahaha

Gotta love horribly-spun content! I've found some real gems in some stuff of mine (or, at least, what used to be mine before someone took it and mangled it!). Unfortunately, seeing stuff like this is all a part of publishing content on the 'net.

The only time I get mad (and, thus, demand it be taken down) is when I see my name still on the byline or my link still at the bottom. I certainly don't want to be associated with this garbage -- especially since I'm a professional writer like you. It's bad enough to be linked to something like that in any niche, but what if someone stumbles on it and actually thinks you write like that?! Yikes!

Oh, and by the way, could the part about "blown paragraphs of hot air" be any more appropriate!?
