How to ensure that Warriors won't listen to or buy from you

I just read a thread where one guy said how a high-priced course wasn't worth it and that you could get all the info needed from buying a few WSOs and save the money.

Yet, in one of his posts, he linked to his review of that high-priced product on his own website. When I clicked through, expecting to find out why he didn't think it was worth the money, I found that the product had a 5 star rating, nothing bad stated about it and of course, his affiliate link to go buy it.

Guess who I'd never buy from?

It amazes me that people don't realize just how easy it is to trace them online to find discrepancies like this.

Really easy when the person posts the link themselves in the very same thread... LOL.

I agree, many don't think their history here can be tracked, when it's the easiest thing in the world to do. Warriors will make a post and when you check their recent history, they've made the same post 20 times!

People LOVE reading negative things. They LOVE seeing negative images, they LOVE hearing about negative events. Moreso by far, then positive stuff. That's why the evening news is all blood, rape, death, killing & throw in one feel good story at the end for filler.

Negative stuff sells, boring old, "this is a really good product and you should use it", doesn't work as well.

It's sad, but that's the way she goes.

      Hey Tina,

That is as big a proof as we could find on affiliate marketers not promoting products that they believe in and vouch for. Peddling something that has a good chance of getting in a few bucks is the name of the game. As you know this is not something unheard of in internet marketing but then one can go only so far with such business ethics.

As Will rightly pointed out negative reviews sell and that could very well have been the motivation in this particular case. But then again it is a matter of whether one wants to do it or not...

      Cheers

Some people just don't hold themselves to higher standards of accountability. That's all I have to say 'bout that...

I'm completely missing these two points, apparently. Maybe you guys can explain what you meant? The comments don't seem to be related to what I was saying.

My take, and point, with my comments is that here is a person who is basically lying to his prospective customers. He's perfectly willing to sell them something he doesn't think is a good value at all, as long as it makes him a few dollars. I find that reprehensible.

Plus, why would I trust someone that I know isn't honest? If he'll lie to his customers, then I have no doubt his sales copy would be riddled with lies, as well.

Your right of course and as I said "I agree with your assessment Tina." I was a bit off topic because it reminded of people who sometimes copy other people's blog content and sell it as a WSO. Sometimes they even create multiple WSOs of the same content. Completely dishonest.

My apologies for the confusion as I tend to ramble after a weekend of long hours promoting Memorial Day specials.

Ah, Jeffery, I understand now. Yes, those type of people give the industry a bad name, too. All we can do is expose them when we see it and educate our own subscribers or those in our circles of influence.

I agree with your assessment Tina. On the other hand there are single products that are in fact a true combination of more than one product (separate WSOs). In one sense the single product would save people the time sourcing and buying multiple separate products at a higher cost.

When a merchant would be transparent (honest) in the copy and simply state that the single product is a combination of similar WSOs (not copies of the WSOs) intended to serve a complete solution. Example: One WSO shows a beginner how to go online with a website > a different WSO shows a beginner how to get traffic to the website > etc > etc. Now, the single product that combines the multiple products is a complete solution often sold a reasonable lower price.

A very clever Warrior did something similar to that few years back. He was applauded by Warriors for pricing his WSO for pennies. Also, his end product was published on his website for years prior to making it a WSO. Anyone who wanted to go to the site would save money AND he made that fact completely transparent in the copy. The point was beginners sometimes just do not know where to find the same information on the internet and most would not know what works and does not work in the first place.

Is this the thread from the offline part of the forum?

A lot of people abuse their lists, and mislead their visitors... It's VERY obnoxious when searching for REAL legit reviews of something and seeing obvious articles and press releases and fake reviews with affiliate links.

I haven't focused on building a list... well... I have direct mailing lists, and a very modest email list, but I don't even market to my email list. I don't know what to market to them, because very rarely is there a product or offer that I believe in except my own.

It's a messed up way of thinking, which may make some money initially but I'm a big believer of customer retention and misleading them is not the way to do it.

There are unethical business practices all over the place online, this does not surprise me at all.

Just second guess everything anyone says online, there is often an ulterior motive behind it.
