What sort of service if you don't mind me asking? On another note, giving a free report or some freebie is known to be a good way to attract prospects, but don't that feel your autoresponder with freebie seekers?

      UK!!

      Here you go:

      1. set up a squeeze page

      2. put your domain name in your forum signature

      3. get on here and give the BEST advice that you can possibly come up with (even if you have to do some research first, and then post!)

      4. be friendly, knowledgeable and very encouraging (because there can be a lack of encouragement in most IM products)

      5. People who like your input will click on your sig and sign up

Why is this important? Because it is more PERSONAL than an anonymous squeeze page and boring PLR ebook freebie by itself....LOL

Or in other words, give--and it will be given to you....

      Be encouraged!!

      Hope that helps,

      Jerry K

    Another alternative...
    1. create a WSO
    2. launch it at WSO Forum
    3. Use Warriorplus to get affiliates
    4. give 100% commissions to attract hundreds of affiliates
    5. build a buyer list from your WSO buyers

ive been using solo ads a lot to build my lists

solo ads rock and are super profitable if done right

you should also be using free traffic methods at the same time though, free traffic does take time but if you have an IM blog then over time you will slowly build more traffic to it and your list will grow faster using that too

what ever method you use though there are 2 things you should be focusing on

    1. building a list of buyers and raving fans

    2. working out how profitable your funnel is so that you know the most you can pay
    for traffic

Being I'm in IM, I'm a huge fan of WSOs and Solos.

I was taking forever with the indirect approach (but traditional).. ie, blog, articles, article marketing, SEO, backlinks.. It really bogged me down, and was taking way too much time.

Once I finally figured out very little of it was necessary, things took off for me.

I've written about it in detail in the free wso in my signature.

There are a few different methods I use:
    • Build a squeeze page and offer a high quality valuable report
    • Email Sigs in my emails AND of course, in the forums
    • JV Giveaways
    • Articles that I submit to the directories
    • eBooks with links in them
    • Blog commenting
These have all worked for me very well. I have used them for freebies as well as the products I charge for.

If you want to get a little experimental and try to go viral you can test "sharing" tools such as punchtab (free) which is a reward plugin that you can put on any site and your visitors are rewarded for sharing your site/page with their friends.

This would work for certain niches especially if you're running a competition or you have some valuable generic content that people want.

By using this method you're reaching out to a new audience which may not already be hooked into the various lists/forums.. fresh blood

You would really need to try this with your niche to see if it work and you would need to run a fixed duration competition to see some real results.

PunchTab is only one of these tools there are a bunch of them both free and paid.

      For me:

      1. Offering a free productivity sheet to manage peoples time and projects (been great).
      2. Using my webinar replays to get sign ups.
      3. Using the Aweber plug in Facebook, so that people can sign up for freebies on my Fan Page.

Method 1 & 2 facilitated by Facebook posts.

      Nice and easy!!

For nearly all of my niches, I build lists of proven buyers by having opt-in forms on my sales pages. Forms include a "Transaction ID" field which must be filled out after a purchase to subscribe for niche-specific product updates. This effectively screens out freeloaders. :p

I thought that you put the opt-in form on your review page of the recommended product, not the actual sales page... Isn't it strange to put it directly on the sales page?

Although these pages do include some product "review" features, technically they really are sales pages because of very strong marketing copy. These pages have only two purposes; (1) To convert first-time visitors to buyers, and (2) To convert first-time buyers to subscribers. Subscribers are then subsequently offered "recommendations" to incrementally higher end relevant products until they either no longer buy or die.

So I guess your landing page is actually a sales page, and after all the selling, you invite people to subscribe to your list. Do you make it a buying feature? Or do you just casually talk about subscribing for more info?

Also, don't webmasters/ezine owners have a problem with linking your article directly to a sales page?

None of my "landing pages" or articles ever discuss or promote any particular product, and off-site article links never go directly to a sales page. Readers are given valuable content, which builds a level of conferred authority within these niches. At some point, readers accept my "recommendation" for products as part of the process in offering solutions on my web sites. This type of marketing beats the competition all-to-hell.

I give up. Either I didn't pay enough attention to all your posts describing your system, either I'm dumb.

From what I understand, you give articles out to syndication. Good. After that, you've said your lists are populated with buyers, not freebie seekers. OK. But now I don't understand the mechanics of this process, since you've said your landing pages of the links provided in the syndicated articles don't point to anything salesly, and you don't offer freebies to sign up either.

My only guess now is that a typical landing page that suits your process would only welcome people to read more articles of yours, and at the end of those articles you promote products, providing links, links that point to a pre-selling page, or review page of the promoted product.

                  Am I right?

I hope I don't come across as over pestering, but I'm very curious about this system.

More or less ... or at least, that's why I haven't got round to changing those pages yet. I don't conceal the fact that I'm promting stuff, anyway. I don't think the front page/landing page of a site is the right place for a product review, to be honest. (And I'd never mention a product in an article, at all).

You're close. Perhaps you should consider, however, that economists aren't always right. Seriously, the subtlety of not appearing to promote anything really is a powerful marketing method. An enduring example is seen right here on the WF - with sig files.

The concept is simple; you give before you take, and in this basic principle article syndication is no different than forum marketing or even giving away freebies in exchange for getting subscribers to your lists.

My syndicated articles provide information of value to my targeted readers. The non-salesy solutions within these articles drive traffic to my niche sites where additional valued content is offered. What happens is these readers start searching the niche site for more content relevant to their interests or specialty.

At this point, the big pay-off begins. These readers become web site visitors and encounter links to my sales pages, which strongly recommends products as solutions congruently with the solution-oriented tone of all my articles. By leveraging the advantage of an aura of authority conferred by these articles, sales conversions are high, as are subsequent opt-ins of buyers for additional email promotions and sales.

I don't know about you, but I put the review of the product after: 1) a long copy that is there to welcome visitors and make them opt in; 2) after two "featured articles". The review is actually the last think they'll encounter on my page, and, in my view, is better than putting the review first.

Techniques emerging from this point of view differ, but the building block should remain the same. Thanks for pointing this out, because of so many affiliates trying to sell products, instead of recommend them, I tend to fall in this not-so-productive mindset myself.

The method which works best for me is to give a free product in exchange for an e-mail address. People are hesitant to give their e-mail address away these days. In order to gain their e-mail address, you have to give them some incentive. Give them a good product, and they'll give you their e-mail.

I actually just started to work towards building a list also. I'm going with the blog/free report giveaway route for now that limited on budget at the moment for solo ads.

A buyers list would probably be more profitable in the long run, but I'm aiming at this point to just capture my viewers and keep them updated as I grow my internet marketing blog and business. Set up an auto responder with my free report yesterday afternoon and started to get a few subscribers already.

    hi shoaibahmad9999,

    1. Have a Squeeze page to build your list
    2. Provide freebies or service
    3. Draw traffic to your site (Soloads, SEO, PPC or Forum)
    4. Do Email marketing with your subscriber

My favorite? Banner ads no question.
Lots of people are recommending solos, which are very effective,
However solos can be quite a task to strick in the non competitive
Niches, and the reason is obvious, a vendor shortage that is.

All these ideas sound great. But what I like is the free targetted traffic that comes from submitting my article in *different forms*

What do I mean by this? Create an article, spin it, submit it to different article directories, then to slide (like power point) sharing sites, free ebook sharing sites and other document sharing sites (including podcasst sites if you have a method to convert articles to podcasts and video sharing sites if you have software to convert articles to videos).

When you submit, make sure your url is in the form http://www and link enbaled. That way you're building traffic and backlinks a tthe same time.

My list is growing by about 100 subscribers per day. Good luck.

First of all, Jay, no article marketer wants to get potential customer traffic coming to his site from an article directory, for all the reasons explained in so much detail in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5075780

Secondly spinning would be nonsensical, in this context - just a total waste of time with absolutely no benefits at all compared with submitting them unspun.

I can suggest six little items to read, which offer some insight on this point ...
      • This post explains the benefits of spinning;
      • This post, and its links, explain how article directories really work and why they exist;
      • The first half (or so) of this thread contains a good discussion of what you can gain from spinning articles;
      • The advice on this subject given by so many people throughout most of this thread has been really helpful to many people here;
      • On the meaning and significance of "duplicate content", in this context, this little post from expert article marketer Anne Pottinger includes direct quotations from Google's WebMaster Central Blog on the subject (not easy to find a more authoritative source than that!);
      • This little article is also a very useful and accurate explanation of the subject.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that my simple article syndication model (targeting real live eyeballs) generates a total average of 42,000 subscribers (buyers) per day to my lists. Better luck next time.

It's not the same number everyday. Some days much less, others a lot more. But that's the average.

My favorite -- using solo ads.

You need to find solo ad sellers who are reputable... I tend to use those who have lots of positive feedback on Reed Floren's solo ad directory or those members here of the Warrior Forum who have good feedback.

    OK now...

Point is to make a squeeze page and then drive traffic to it (Banner ads, PPC, PPV)
Another way, offer / sell something and build a list that way & through affiliates

Now its time to take action, well I already did, bought a solo ad

I have two favorites because they both build not just a list, but a buyers list:

      1. Create, market and sell WSOs - I have added thousands of subscribers to my list with just 1 WSO (I've written 1 solo WSO and 6 additional WSOs that I co-created with Craig Mako (WF username: craigrc) under the FastAttack brand).

      2. Offer bonus to other WSO sellers - When other WSO sellers agree to include my bonus (generally, a free copy of one of my WSOs), I simply provide them with my squeeze page and title of my bonus...that's it! When my bonus is included with a hot launch, I can add several hundred more emails to my buyers list fast...and have!

And, with the two above methods, I continue to receive opt-ins to this day, even for WSOs I created more than 6-9 months ago!

Additionally, I offer a free make money online ebook at my WSO review site, as well as a blog opt-in form in my sidebar on every page of my review site. These capture site visitors from time to time.

By and far my favorite and most successful list building methods are #1 and #2 above, which is why I am currently working on a couple of additional WSOs right now!

      Cheers,

      Anthony

I have tried a bunch of ways to build list and not have had much success. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but it sure is something. I was going to go back thru my process and see where I am failing. Have bought a bunch of stuff on this too and it all seems like the same rehashed info over and over again.

It's easy to ask other people how they've had success doing etc ... The one thing you need to realize is "your" experience will always be difference from the next persons ... So you have to just jump in, as people we're not perfect ... If you wait trying to come up with the "right" method because someone is promising you a %100 fool proof method you will me in trouble ... Just get started doing whatever you can, tweaking along the way ...

Some product creation gurus here in Warrior Forum order ebooks and reports from me.
These are the things they do.

    a. They order a 20-page ebook/report as a teaser for their 50-page ebook/report. That 20-page ebook/report contains powerful bits of information. However, the one that is powerfully-packed with the complete pieces of information are in the 50-page ebook. The shorter version is for FREE. They sell the 50-page one.

    or...

    b. They order a 50-page ebook/report and use it as a 100% giveaway (for those freebie-seekers LOL).

If you need some samples of what these product creation gurus buy from me, check out my thread. Few of their ebooks/reports are see on the FIRST PAGE of my thread.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not compelling anyone to visit my thread. I'm just referring to it to shed more light on the discussion on hand.

It is all about the content. You can build responsive list that converts well by creating highest quality content. Traffic will not help if your content is not unique and something you can find on other site. You need to create something that you can sell and give it away for free and people will be more than happy to be in your list.

All this "creating list of freebie seekers" is quite strange to me. Are you saying, that you yourself only join the lists through buying something and/or that you never buy anything from people, who got you on their list through a freebie?

My favorite method is selling products and adding customers to list.

So instead of a huge freeibe list im building a buyers list.

Instead of offering freebies in my email, I'll offer product updates in my followups.

This is how i plan to grow my list and my online business.

    First you need a

    *Squeeze page

    * Write or outsource a 15 - 20 pages ebook.

(Obviously, you'll need an autoresponder and also at least 7 emails ready to be sent to your subscribers).

Then you need to start sending traffic to your squeeze page
    Free traffic:

    - Blog commenting

    - Forum posts

    - Post articles to articles bank (with a link to you squeeze page)

    - create or outsource related videos (post them to video sharing sites. Link back to your squeeze page)

    - Press releases

    - Free classified ads

    Now my favourite:
    Paid traffic:

    - Solo Ads

    - Solo Ads

    - Solo Ads

To build a list of buyers, you need to firstly, exploit your community of warriors by giving them good offers and build affiliates. In addition, buy solo-ads and place banner-ads. With these modest tactics, all will be well.

You cannot lose by driving traffic to a high converting squeeze page. But better yet, build a buyers list because then, each subscriber you get is already proven buyer and is more likely to buy your future offers. I offer a totally free report on how to do this pretty easily and quickly if you like...just click on my signature below.
