Offline Marketing, Articles, Own Product? Need some help...

Hi fellow Warriors,

I'm debating whether to bore you with the reasons why I need to make a more or less steady income as soon as possible or not... so if you don't want to read about it, please just scroll down a bit ;-)

Well, I'm 26 years old and originally from Germany. I've moved over to England because I've found the love of my life and she happens to be English. We got engaged, well... I've popped the question last November and luckily, she said yes. I still don't understand why, but I am glad she did ;-)

We have set the date for our wedding to be the 12th of December this year. The church is booked; we've chosen a marquee for the reception afterwards, and found a really nice place for it. We've also already found a photographer, a videographer, and a florist. Oh the joy of planning a wedding ;-)

My fiancee's mum and dad are going to pay for some of the things, but weddings are really expensive nowadays and we are still talking about approximately £20,000 we have to pay by the end of the year.

Another problem is that we still live with them at the moment and it can be quite hard at times. Finding some time to be alone can be challenging and it's hard not to get her parents involved when we have an argument. We would really like to move out, especially since we are thinking about starting a family, but that would add another at least £1,000 a month to the equation.

Anyway, now that I've bored you with my life, the reason I've started this post is to ask you for advice.

I think I have the knowledge to make the amount of money we need - most of us warriors already have in my opinion. It's mainly choosing and sticking to a method - and giving all you can - that makes the difference between making $10,000 or more a month and not making any money at all in my opinion. Please feel free to correct me if you think otherwise :-)

I've thought about three different methods to make the money but I just can't seem to choose one.

Offline marketing - I've designed and coded quite a lot of websites in the past and I also have knowledge in list building and SEO, so I thought about doing some offline marketing and getting local businesses as clients. The drawback is that while my spoken English is pretty good I think, I never had to approach businesses to get work, let alone do cold calling.

Article Marketing - I've had some success with Article marketing in the past. I had found a nice niche and published articles on ezinearticles. That made me about $30-$90 a day before I tried the "next big thing". I promoted clickbank products at that time but I'm not sure how steady clickbank income is at the moment, since I've read about all the problems they recently seemed to have.

Creating my own product - I've never created a product before but I have researched some niches and have some ideas in my mind for my own products, especially reports in a few different markets. I think the main thing that has stopped me from getting into creating my own products is fear. Fear that I choose the wrong niche, or the wrong product in that niche. Fear that no one wants the product I created and I make no money at all with it.

Well, these are the three main ideas I've had and I would just like to hear your opinion. What do you think should I do or what's the best method to create a nice residual income and reach my goal of £20,000 by the end of the year?

Thanks a lot :-)

Ben

    Hi, Ben,

    If you like the idea of off line marketing and you really want to serve and not exploit (a la cash cow) your local businesses.

    If you would like to talk to a local business and be almost guaranteed that it will buy your service because you will save it real money and, probably, find it more cash customers.

    If you would like to earn, realistically £750 per week, every week with a residual income of £59.85 per month from each week's business and if you could do this part time, would you be prepared to keep what I tell you 100% confidential but give me an honest testimonial after your first month of applying my strategy?

    If you would, please p.m. me and maybe I will give you one of the best wedding presents you could wish for. I stress, though, confidentiality is an absolute must.

    You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
    Build it, make money, then build some more

    Hi Ben

    It sounds like you have had success and have a relatively good grasp of your skills available to you. I would say that one thing that would help you to make steady income from your online efforts is to be able to stay focused on one thing until you have a good handle on producing a steady income from it before moving to another project. It is too easy to be distracted by all the "newest launch" or next innovative IM method that is promising earnings. Success happens to those who have the ability to plan, stay focused and continue to take action until the goal is reached.

    Plan + Focus + Action = Steady results

    Follow this formula and you should see a steady increase in your monthly income.

    Good luck, and congrats on your engagement!

      Thank you all for your comments, and thank you Laura for your congratulations

      I think my main problem is fear of failure, because in theory I know most of those techniques to make a nice residual income online work, but I think it's a mind thing.

      What holds me back is probably all the thoughts about what happens if no one likes the websites, or my product, what if nobody wants it, etc...

        Ben

        If they don't like your product or your product isn't selling well, then you haven't really hit their hot buttons yet.

        And that is an opportunity. Why?

        Because each failure points you in the direction you need to go.

        Look at the funnel below.

        Start
        * *
        * *
        * *
        * *
        * *
        * *
        * *
        GOAL

        Imagine each failure, or mistake is like you hitting the side of the funnel and each time you do you keep being redirected closer and closer toward your goal.

        Anyway, that's the way I see mistakes, and failures.

        Personally I think if you are going to create your own product then I would suggest something that you know a lot about and that you like.

        And then I would go on forums in that niche and look for common questions people are asking, common mistakes that they are making that stop them from getting what they want, common themes they are talking about, and common problems that they are having.

        Do this on different forums and you will begin to see a pattern emerging.

        And create your product on solving that pattern.

        PS Remember that Failures are not really Failures but just sign posts pointing us in the direction we need to go.

    I think what you fear is pretty normal. When I created my first product, I thought 'suppose no one buys it?' Then someone did... After the initial 'Woo-Hoo!' I then thought, suppose they don't like it? Maybe it's not perfect enough yet?

    These are all things that can stop you from taking the action that you need to be successful. As it turns out, people liked my products just fine. Not everything is going to be a booming success.

    But suppose it was just a tiny success making only, say a couple hundred a month? suppose you replicated those 'failures' 10 or 20 times. Now it doesn't seem so bad, eh?

    Jumping out of your comfort zone and treading those unexplored waters is key to being successful. You'll soon find that if you strive to offer real value to your customers that you will get great results and many happy repeat customers.

    Oh, and you'll get the occasional refund, but don't let that scare you, or take it personally. It's just a part of running a business. If you never get a refund, you're probably not selling enough, LOL.

    Whichever route you go Ben, stay focused and persistent. Oh, and congrats on your engagement!

    I totally agree with you on this.

    I find it interesting how many of the warriors on this list talk about building relationships with their online customers, and building trust with their list members, yet you don't see that in the "offline" posts, except from people like David Cavanaugh, yourself, and a few others.

    And the reason these other warriors are having trouble is because their focus is on how much money they are going to make, what they themselves are going to get out of this deal, it's put them in this mindset of;

    "How am I going to convince them that I am valuable?"

    And what they don't realize is that if they were to change their mindset. If they were to do some research on these companies, and find out what their needs, wants, and challenges are, and take a bit of time to figure out how they could help these Business owners solve these challenges, and then show these business owners one or two ideas of how you can help them then they won't have to sell anything, or convince these business owners of anything.

    These business owners have a problem all you have to do is to show them a solution to their problem.
