Any Kunaki pros here that can help me?

I have a Windows Movie Maker video created and saved to Videos on my hard drive. It is 1:57:19 in length. (One hour, fifty-seven minutes.)

I get to step three on Kunaki and am not able to get it to upload.

Question: Must the project be burned to disc before I can load it onto Kunaki? If not, how can I upload it? I'm out of ideas.

I tried to burn it to DVD but it stuck during encoding at 31.3% and stayed there for four hours.

Any help appreciated. Thanks. (This was also posted in the off topic forum, just so you know, so you don't waste time answering it twice.)

Chances are, your video file is too long, and your ISP may be disconnecting you, which is preventing you from uploading your file, or something else. Try compressing it into a smaller file. There are many AVI to mpg encoders, which can effectively take a 100 MB AVI file, and turn it into a 10 MB mpg file. Also, for a two-hour file -- you really should look and see how large it is -- chances are it is at least 2 to 3 GB.

Thank you, Johnathan, I appreciate the help and advise. I think I'm going to go back and pare it down to just over an hour and compress that and see what happens.

Yes, don't forget that step. The Kunaki software will look for your CD/DVD Drive for the upload. I prefer creating an iso (using WinISO) and mounting it with Daemon Tools, then uploading it.

If your DVD burn is failing, there might be something corrupted in your file, or the blank DVD is bad.

Thanks, Anon7, I thought one of the files might have been corrupted after it sat there for four hours at 31.3% during encoding. Problem is figuring out which one! There are only 90-100 individual clips!

I'll compress it and if that doesn't work, I'll trim it down and hopefully get rid of the corrupted file in there and hopefully be able to burn off a copy and get it uploaded to Kunaki.

    Thanks.

And thanks Steve for that link. I'll look at it right now!

Hey, good idea, Steve. Thanks! I never would've thought of that.
