Advice re. Network of Websites

I'm planning to put up a network of exact match domains with keyword phrases relevant to my general niche. About 20 sites will be money sites, each with its own geographically targeted business name (e.g., Walnut Creek Blah Blah Associates). The other 200 domains will be landing pages, with roughly ten each pointing to the 20 business name domains. Of course I'll SEO, Google Map, etc. all the main sites, and SEO the landing pages. I'm thinking I want links from the all of the sites to all of the other sites.

Question - Does that make sense so far, as
1a.a strategy for establishing some page rank/ link juice,
1b.as a way to possibly get multiple hits on search pages, given I'll be using separate exact match domain names?

Question 2 - I want the many links to be invisible to searchers. Can I place them on a links-only page/ pages, which will be in my site map file, but have nothing on the website menus that make them accessible to visitors?

Any other suggestions are much appreciated!

Thanks,
Fran

My advice to you is to make sure you make each one a very worthwhile site that people will like enough to return to. If you are thinking you will just get "SEO" traffic by building links, this is probably a very long term scenario at best.

Too many "in network" links could result in a google penalty, especially if the domains are not well established with links from outside the network (quality links).

As for question 2, it really won't do much good. Every page you put online should be a worthwhile destination, and when you get that part right, google will take notice too.
