Could I get some help with this site?

Could someone review this site as far as if it would convert well? It is mainly the website design section I am wondering about. The link is in my sig.

Nothing wrong with the design if it's a made-for-Adsense site. Looks like a made-for-Adsense site. Pleasant design.

Not bad. I think it's a decent design for your niche.

I like the simple design and that your main ads are above the fold. Depending on your traffic generation, you should convert pretty well. My only recommendation would be to make your mailing list opt-in bigger and maybe put it closer to the top. That email list is where you will convert really well if you have the proper email campaign in place.

If you plan to drive traffic to it you might get some Adsense clicks. Google really dislikes sites with ads in the content above the fold, so search will suffer. You should have your opt-in where the first block of ads are.

I would switch the left and right columns, you'll probably notice a higher CTR if your skyscraper is on the left hand side because it looks more like a navigation menu.

    Just my thoughts, nice design.

Yes, it's a good design for an adsense site. I had used a design similar like yours and it convert well

Your next concern should be how to get targeted traffic. The more targeted traffic, the higher your conversion will be.

Thanks for the thoughts...now what if I took the adsence down and made it for selling website design and such?

  • Hi jbearnolimits,
My name is Paul Strachan and I'm a professional online search engine marketing producer so I would love to offer some free advice for your website. Firstly, the design looks good but maybe cut down on the adsence adverts a little. I also noticed that your domain/brand name is ''smallchurchadvertising'' however I don't see that exact phrase mention at all within your main page. To optimize your brand as much as possible to at least achieve the number one spot for the phrase ''small church advertising'' you need to sprinkle that EXACT phrase throughout the site!

Just a little tip to help you grow

I think the design could use some work (aesthetics wise).

The real problem at a glance is the lack of a clear cut compelling offer as well as a call to action. You have to make it very obvious that you have something of unique value and show them what to do to receive it.
If you don't have that your conversions will be near zero.

Thanks. That is what I need to hear about. Any suggestions on what to do about this?

I made a graphic for the call to action and I would like more thoughts on how well it may convert now...without adsense because I am taking that down in the near future. Here is the main page I am editing http://smallchurchadvertising.com/af...?bodyPage=opt3

Well, you could take out the block in the bottom. There are too many ads. The one below the title and on the left of the page will work really well. The third block seems excessive.

Ads above the fold may be good for CTR but they will hurt your Google search rankings. That's not me saying that, it came straight from Matt Cutts.

We’ve heard complaints from users that if they click on a result and it’s difficult to find the actual content, they aren’t happy with the experience. Rather than scrolling down the page past a slew of ads, users want to see content right away.
So sites that don’t have much content “above-the-fold” can be affected by this change. If you click on a website and the part of the website you see first either doesn’t have a lot of visible content above-the-fold or dedicates a large fraction of the site’s initial screen real estate to ads, that’s not a very good user experience.

Such sites may not rank as highly going forward. - Matt Cutts

Ok guys, I get that the ads were throwing everyone off. I took them off the site and now I would like to get some detailed thoughts on how to get a stronger call to action.
