Did a mod REALLY just delete my thread?

I posted a couple days ago that anytime a thread is posted here that TRULY starts to dig down and get straight to the point of how to make money online, that it will get DELETED.

I just had a freaking EPIC thread going with tons of great info and solid advice that will actually help people make money, and now it's GONE??

WTF???????????????????????

Im done with this garbage forum and Im going to spread the word to some a-list bloggers with massive e-mail lists.
#main internet marketing discussion forum #confirmed #knew #omfg #serious
  • Yeah it's unfortunate threads get deleted, days to weeks of great info is lost all in a instance with no way to get it back. You can google the thread and maybe try and save the cache, if any. I personally wish forum moderation was more a community thing or very least there was a page with thread id and deletion reason listed, something, anything. Don't leave the forum though, just some delete threads doesn't make the forum itself bad, it's a great forum in fact.
  • Grow up... stop whining... nothing you or anyone
else wrote is that important or profound. Get over
    yourself.

My threads are full of premium content that only authorities such as myself could create. And Im in these forums giving it away for free. So are other authority figures who respond to my threads with more premium content.

This does not go well for the warrior members who are trying to SELL the same exact info in their WSO's.

Point is, Im killing their sales.

      The end.

  • Yes, your thread just got deleted. This should not surprise you much.

When you start out by blasting anyone and everyone who says things you disagree with as "hogwash," "BS," and the other nonsense with which you often pack your posts, you can count on the thing getting nuked. That's no secret.

If you want to take this startling revelation, and the conspiracy theories you build from it, to your blogger friends... Have fun with that.

    Buh-bye. Have a nice weekend.

  • I didn't see any reason the thread would be expected to be deleted. I don't know why this forum belittles people who get upset. But I don't question. Just off to the next thread.

    • Mahlon,If you post in a consistently abusive tone, you really should expect threads to go away. And simply deleting a thread hardly constitutes "belittling" the poster.

The first rant from this gent about a deleted thread focused on accusing the moderators and owner of trying to squash useful info, to keep the members uninformed so they'd keep buying stuff. His whole approach to things he doesn't like seems to be to create villains and paste them into some generic conspiracy theme.

Remind me again, please, which part of the rules or conventions for online discussion fora suggest that the maintainers of said fora are obligated to retain posts which are abusive?

      Paul
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Bill,Nope. It was a generic "Gurus are all morons and they lie" post, followed up with a request for advice on finding niches that are actually profitable. If he'd posed the question civilly, without the ridiculous (and typically negative) preamble, there'd have been nothing wrong with it.

    Paul

    • So, he wants us to tell him our most profitable niches so he doesn't have to work so hard to find out for himself.
  • lol paul, dont you love when people accuse staff of being 'corrupt' ?

its pretty hilarious.. even with gaming forums, man.. im sure u can imagine what we let slide over there. and when we dont allow something, its a conspiracy.. not realizing what other kind of 'shenanigans' we let the users get away with.

    oh well

i mean i'll sit there and trash talk all day and still rip you apart in the game while im doing it - LOL but some people take things too far on forums. doesnt matter what kind of niche its based on.
  • Trax, cmon man.. nothing with "authority" has came from Texas in the past 15-20 years.. not even your post..

LOL sorry texans but look at the cowboys.. cant remember the last time i heard someone cheering for them! hahaha i dunno maybe i'm just a bigger fan of the 'older' days

How come he gets to use this forum to voice his negative opinion of us Texans.

See rule #1. If you have a problem with ...god or Texans....take it up with us. It's probably a good idea to bring a gun or two a long as well..lol

This forum is so corrupt. They even let members bash Texans for no reason at all... come on paul. playing favorites again.

      Rule #1

If you have a problem with another Warrior, a Guru, or God, take it up with them directly. Not here. No exceptions.

  • Well, not from that account, anyway.

Not only did he say he was done here, he immediately went and posted another thread, claiming the only purpose for the existence of the forum is to sell WSOs. (He was less polite in his phrasing, but that was the gist of it.) Personally, I wouldn't much care if Allen shut that whole section of the forum down.

His time is better spent somewhere that he finds a good fit for his needs. This was clearly not it.

I don't think he was angry. I don't even think he was serious. I suspect he was just entertaining himself at the expense of folks who didn't get the gag.

When I first started reading, I thought wow!! Not the way to get on the good side of a Moderator. And then I noticed this member was banned.
    • [1] reply
    • Probably wouldn't have been, if he'd left it at that. He kept pushing in a way that indicated that was the desired outcome, so I gave him what he wanted.

Assuming it wasn't just an overplayed gag, he can now parade cheerfully and righteously about, telling folks how the Evil Mods here have oppressed him. "Help, help, I'm being oppressed!"

Personally, I tend to think it was a schtick he got bored with and decided to end. Hard to tell for sure, though. He could just be weirding out in his spare time.

Most probably, every one got one or more threads delete over the course of his existence here.

I know that it doesn't feel well because you put in a lot of effort and time to write something helpful and valuable. But that's the past and you cannot change that in any regard. If you post the same thread again, odds are that it'll get deleted the second time.

Figure out what you did wrong or how you should do it next time!
  • I made a couple of contributing posts to his "give me a niche" request, and now I feel like a sucker for even trying to help.

He's overly pessimistic, and if I'm not mistaken he mentioned he had a problem with drinking and smoking...? Maybe he drank or smoked something that caused him to go off, not once but twice on here. But anyway...

Heres a photo I found online of the process, this is how it works:

Not sure why its not embedding, (edit, fixed that lol)

I've got everything I need, just gotta go pick up the pool in an hour or so (whenever I feel like I'm truly awake, man I hate early mornings!)

  • Yeah, otherwise once you start filling it up, the pressure is gonna make whichever side is lower start leaning, and eventually just collapse the entire pool.

We went thru this last year with a smaller one, so since were doing a bigger, more permanent one I figure we should do things right. No point havin to do it a 2nd time, lol.

Just didnt last year, since we already planned on upgrading to a bigger one. To drain it I just ran a razor blade around the bottom of the liner. LOL

I really need to be on my way to pick this thing up, but instead I'm procrastinating & posting on here, haha

Seems to me what we have is a marketer with sales experience of "do you want fries with that" after school who started in IM when he was 14...but that's just a guess. He's probably 15 at least by now.

  • Here is an idea. Why don't you write a series of articles or an ebook to explain what was said? Surely people would be filled with gratitude for your creative efforts. After all, with your a-list blogger contacts and their massive email lists, you could make a large sum of money. You would then be able to outsource your warrior forum posting to someone else.

Why was the 2nd quote removed?!!

It complied with the sig rules, obviously, since it let me post it.

Cmon paul The rules cant allow it to be saved & then part of it gets removed.. Now the quote doesnt make any sense..

On another note, pool is installed & filling up! woohooo

Man this thing is huge.. And it took all 600 lbs of sand to level the ground.. I'm just that good at guesstimating!

    • Rob,Still there.I could guess. The extra space from using the quote function probably made it look like more than 6 lines. • I love the bitch slap coupon. Who else wants some?
  • geez people. the staff member (who is really the only important voice in this thread) has already spoken. Why the forum fanboy circle jerk?

In case you were actually wondering (not pretending to be trying to understand so you could pile on and add your 2 cents) the reason some of the members feel the staff belittles dissenting voices is because whenever a thread like this is created, a bunch of older users, who think they are important because they have had an account on an internet forum for a long time, quickly jump in to belittle the user and the staff allows it to go on and on.

TL ; DR Perhaps just reply if you're gonna reply then close these types of threads? A lot of bullies like to call what they do "just having a little fun" at someone's expense. "They deserved it" often being a popular excuse as well.

    • Oh puhlease what is the deal with newbies always getting angry with old members?

Forget the aged accounts conspiracy the WHOLE POINT is the guy acted like a jackass. How are you missing this one very essential point? Anything after that fact means very little to me.

Forums are not suppose to be run perfectly, thats what makes them fun imho. There NEEDS to be leeway, or leniancy, favoritism, why? Because its HUMAN NATURE. You find it in politics, in big business, people get their friends involved... its how the world turns so get use to it.

Paul Myers was extremely professional how he handled this thread imo I just can't tell you what I've seen on other forums run by meatheads or arrogant musicians or worse gamers. Marketers tend to have far more taste and respect EVEN IN situations like this. Don't think of it as "belittling" think of it as making a fair observation.

Finally, if people are jumping on the OP, maybe thats what he deserved? In the law system after people get sentenced, they ALSO get belittled in the jail system. CO's rip on inmates, intimidate them, threaten them, even beat them at times. This happens A LOT in America (as much as people live under a rock here) so if you want cry about people belittling others, do it in a place that matters imo.

Some judges order people to walk around society wearing signs on their bodies, how is THAT any different than belittling someone?

Its NOT. Belittling HAPPENS, so GET USE TO IT. If you really have that big a problem with people belitting others, then you really just have an issue with reality imo.

My very last point. You've been on this forum a few months, so how can YOU even say what really goes on here on a daily basis unless you've been a member here before your current account?

So your 3 short months here give you credibility to talk about how "old members always act like this?"

      I don't think so.
