[Solved] What Info Will People See If They Send Me Money Through Paypal?

Hi,

What info of mine will a person see if they send me money through paypal? Will they see my name and address? Is it possible to hide my details? For my privacy? No I am obviously not planning on scamming anyone, it's just for my privacy, I don't feel comfortable giving out my details, that's it. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I believe your full name, address and phone number are provided to the person who sends you money. You can probably enter a PO box instead but you should understand that if someone sends you money, they will probably want to know who they sent it to and how to reach them in case there is a problem.

Normally, they get your name and email. I have a business account, so they get my business name and email.

Your email address and name, not your physical address.

Only by having a business account, in which case the name they'll see will be your business's name rather than your own name.

Be aware, also, that these things can sometimes vary from country to country, and you'll get a more reliable answer by asking PayPal themselves.

just followed what you just said, mailed them. Btw, what it needs to open business account, any document?

any trustable payment processor to my need rather than paypal?

This really does vary from country to country. Again, you're better checking the information on their website and/or asking them than asking Warriors who can easily inadvertently misinform you, about something like this.

If you can use PayPal how you need/want to, it's probably best, I'd think - because it's how most people expect to pay, and it's known and trusted, as well as easy for customers to use. There are many others: AlertPay/Payza (keep away, they have problems at the moment), Moneybookers (poor customer service), 2Checkout and Plimus (might be good, depending on what product/service you're selling - these two have the advantage that people can use their own PayPal accounts to pay, without the recipient needing to have a PayPal account), and many others. All have idiosyncracies, and complicated terms of service which can vary from country to country. It's essential, on a subject like this, to check the source carefully yourself, rather than relying on "forum information".

I saw it, and chose to ignore the question. Is there really a good reason to need to hide your name? Short of a threatening or stalker situation...

Normally they see your name and email, but it depends on the settings that you adjust in the paypal admin section.

If you have a business account, you can customize your order page in PayPal, among other things, so that what a person sees is your logo and business name, etc...
