[Need Help] - Information Product Research - Ads in Google

Hey all - quick question.

I am still in the early stages of IM, and am still struggling to find a niche.

That said, in a lot of reference material I have studied, one common technique to finding a successful niche is to search for that term/niche in Google and see if people are selling information products - if they are, you're good-to-go.

That said, I have searched lots of niches and lots of KW's in Google and have yet to find people advertising information products - it seems as time goes on, they are almost non-existent in Google search ads.

So - my question is, am I doing this all wrong? Or, should I be looking elsewhere to see if people are selling info-products instead of main Google search?

Are you looking to promote information products or creating information products?

    1. If you are looking to be an affiliate then start with Google Adwords Keyword tool to narrow it down.

Start with a market you know something about, it will be much easier that way.

    2. If you are looking to create an information product start looking at your own interests to get a basic understanding of what market you want to go into. Look for problems and provide the solution.

Mike - thanks for the help... maybe I wasn't very clear in my question.

I have heard several times now - if you want to create a product, check to make sure others are already selling an info product on Google in the same niche, then just do it better - or something along those lines.

I know a couple of years ago, I used to see ads for info products on Google, but not so much anymore.

Is this no longer a good test?

Google became a lot more strict and no longer allows affiliate promotion to clickbank type products via Adwords, which is why you don't see them anymore.

They are still high in demand, but this industry is becoming more and more regulated by the day.

If Google is cracking down, but this is a good way to see if a market is thriving - are there better places to check and see if people are selling infoproducts now?
