Hi

I am an Online proof reader. I have an expertise in english editing with a good command over English language.

    David,

You need to read the rules of this forum before you get deleted.
If you want to advertise your services, you need to pay to do so and post in the Warriors for Hire section.
Blatant advertising like this will quickly get your post deleted and may even see you banned.

I've be very concerned that you didn't use uppercase E in the world 'english' (as you wrote it). Doesn't bode too well for someone selling their editing services.

Based on his post, I doubt anyone would hire him as a proof reader anyway!!

Well, as a Proof Reader myself, I tend to agree but I did not want to be rude.
However, I can agree that his post has numerous errors which don't give him good credibility.

The whole "lying about your location" thing doesn't help, either. India, not the US.

His command of English is far better than my ability to write in any other language commonly used on the sub-continent. I would suspect his services could be quite useful to a lot of Indian businessfolk whose grasp of ESL isn't as strong as his. Still, it seems silly to offer proofreading services in a second language in a forum where it is, in large part, the members' native tongue.

The "first post = spam" thing is obviously not the best plan...

        Marianne,
Sorry. I've learned to "let things go" with the exception of those professing to be writers or editors/proofreaders!
Good plan. I don't usually even correct the writers, unless they start playing grammar cop. (I make my share of errors.)

And now that the thread has gone wombat, it is officially declared "For entertainment purposes only."

          Marianne,
Well, you got something right that many get wrong: full stop/period inside the brackets/parentheses for a complete sentence.
My errors are typically of the more mundane variety. Typos and editing artifacts, usually.

I also break a lot of rules deliberately. Starting sentences with 'and' or 'but,' for example.
          I'll sod off now.
          No need. It's FEPO, remember?

                Marianne,

I think the loss of poetry is largely due to a whole other pair of issues: The failure to teach people to think critically, and a growing loss of social awareness.

Narcissists are rarely good narrators, except in autobiographies. And of the premeditatedly stupid... well, what more need be said?

Sorry Paul, but I just couldn't resist. Especially while we're in FEPO mode.

And so too do I. But only if it fits the flow I'm trying to achieve.

I'll play along and pretend like you're not trolling and you haven't posted 12 one-liners this morning in an attempt to get your post count up for some strange reason, perhaps future WSO-related?

The vast majority of people who go online and spend money speak English, and, more specifically, American English. While British & Australian English (and other variants) are out there, we Americans tend to dominate with our expendable income. Therefore it makes sense that the majority of services related to content are aimed at American English.
