Starting guest blogging...

I want to start guest blogging for my new site. I want this for seo and traffic from relevant sites. I will send a request to all of the webmasters in my niche.
So, how should I approach web site owners?
What should I tell them?

Send them a email from the contact page. I have had a few people ask me like that.

Yes... just contact them through their site's contact page and tell them that you would like to do a guest blogging for their site. Also, provide the emails with your writings' link/ example, so the webmaster could see if your writing is suit with their blog or not.

Contact them and show them examples of your best work. Many bloggers are looking for guest posters just to lessen the workload on themselves plus it brings benefits to their blog as well.

I find it helpful to start with an email about them, and their site, and their readers/visitors, and what I like about their site, and then explain my own interest in their subject, and mention that I've recently written something which I think might appeal to their readers, specifically, because <give reasons here> ... and so on.

In other words, make it as much about them as you possibly can.

It can also help to get a comment accepted on the blog first (especially if it's a really good, relevant, well written one). That kind of "breaks the ice" because you can then start your email by thanking them for kindly publishing your comment.
