What % of people actually TAKE ACTION?

As far as I know, no one has tested this (how would you?), and if they did it would probably end up pertaining to just one specific product. To test how many people take action on any and every product out there would literally be impossible.

  Buying courses doesn't make money, but it does help you get money faster as long as you apply what you learn. Even if you apply a course exactly as it says you should, you'll still make mistakes.
  
  The thing is this stuff is a process, there are things you can only learn by doing them.
  
  You do need a road map and a good course gives you just that.

Very Very few maybe. And even those who take action, they just take action on maybe 50% of the course. I am saying this as a user. Even though I dont consider myself as an online marketer, yet I buy almost all courses I feel are worth something. Usually I find only 1% to 5% gain in knowledge from a course. Thanks to the all mighty for a wonderful memory he gifted me. I never forget something I like and always keep it in mind. And use it when I need to.

No idea about that, but it would be an interesting statistic to look at. The answer to this question in my opinion is very relevant because this gives us an insight to the market that we are catering to. Any marketer worth his salt would want his subscribers or customers to succeed for long term growth in his own business. And whether an individual succeeds or not is all dependent upon whether he takes any action or not.

the term "digital dust" was created for a reason.

a lot of the courses and WSOs that people buy are looked at, and the user just lets it sit there, after feeling a big sense of accomplishment that they are now capable to make "5,000 in 5 days!"

another thing about these courses is that...even if the author made $X,XXX in his experience, not all experiences are going to be like that.

Taking action is going to be often discouraging as a result. but don't quit! Keep that head high, because success is inevitable to those who work for it.

Very little and even the people who take action don't take consistent action so they never get any traction or momentum.

They'll take some action on a Facebook campaign and then start taking some action blogging and then some action with Adwords and the end result is a whole bunch of loose ends.

I personally know first hand from selling my own products people don't take action it could be the best possible product but the majority of people get overwhelmed and jump onto the band wagon of the next shiny object.

I think the cure is focus, what helped me to focus was watching some of Tony Robbins videos I would highly suggest checking them out on Youtube.com he goes over some mind blowing things which can really help if your serious.

I've seen the statistic that 98% don't take action thrown around most commonly but I'm not sure there has ever been an adequate scientific study done on this. However, I am sure we can all safely say that the majority don't, otherwise everyone would be a wealthy, self-employed entrepreneur and the economy would collapse due to the lack of "worker bees." :p

Here is one thing that has become clearer to me after reading "Millionaire Fastlane" by M. J. DeMarco.

Most people expect their success to be the result of a single event. So when they get the product and see it's a process they move on to the next shiny thing, hoping they can skip the process with another "method".

In other words, they think there is a single thing, or a couple of things that should get them the results. When they don't find they keep searching.

there have been numbers around for years that indicate that its not uncommon for 10%+ of the people who buy a product to never even download it.

I have seen that time and time again. I have never tracked my numbers of buyers to downloaders that high, but i did reach 7% one time.

Well, here one way to mathematically figure it out instead of pulling random numbers out of your #$@ (!)

Take the number of comments on this thread and divide it by the number of views. Now take that number and multiply by 100. This gives you the percent of people who took action posting on the thread. Now what does that mean? Nothing really, but at least it is a tangible number that you can use to determine hypothetically the percentage of people who actually take action.

For example. I got (17/44)*100 = 31.8% took action on this thread.

Linguaphone did a survey of their customers once. From memory, out of 100 buyers of one of their language products, 40 never even opened the package they received and only 1 person out of the 100 actually learned to speak a bit of foreign language.

I reckon these figures are probably applicable to many other things too.

Ha! I don't feel so bad now...I bought three different language programs 6 years ago because I spent 2 hours + on the road each day & thought my brain cells were dying...I listened to the spanish program a couple of times in the office; learned about 10 new words & never even touched German & French!

I liked all of the positive comments up above. And I agree, you can't get distracted & jump around a lot. If you are the lazy type who believes that you are going to find that ONE thing that is going to make you rich forever, then you're best to just stick to that 9-5 job you hate so much because you are doomed if you go out on your own. It's been my experience that working for myself is just as hard, if not harder than working for someone else (if I want to pull in a true income) but there are perks, like not having to miss your child's baseball game if you don't want to, not having to sit in traffic...not having anyone beat you up mentally but yourself...but you still need to work hard & stay focused. Another word that is key is LEVERAGE. I've leveraged myself up from one level to the next, to the next, to the next over these last 2.5 years, re-investing my resources and it's paid off. No program is going to teach you to have the right attitude you just have to have it & YUP keep you're chin up!

Depends on what the action is, or what you are referring to specifically.

In my experience with various programs I've looked over (and followed up with)... Generally...

1 in 10 take little action and then do nothing
1 in 50 continue to take action until they receive some sort of result
1 in 100 become successful.

I would say that a small percentage (less than 10%) take some type of action but the majority of that 10% only do parts of the course and subsequently are left disappointed with the results. Most courses have some good and executable actions in them but the way the 'guru's' explain it, it often overwhelms the reader rendering them paralyzed by the analysis of all the data. They make it seem so hard yet most of the time, if followed correctly and if the fluff is removed, progress can be made. Just my 2 cents worth.

only around 3% make anything online and 1% make a decent living, I would say these are the ones taking action, after all the ones earning are the ones implementing what they learn, if you aren't earning from the courses you have bought you probably are not taking full action.

Also the odds are if the course is expensive then more people will act, but the majority of people wouldn't buy courses so expensive because they know they never follow through with things, it is a mental block!

"This is not for me." i.e Success is not for me.

Of all the programs I've purchased I've maybe taken action on 1% of what I have learned. That 1% I have acted on has gotten me further than I ever thought. I can only imagine what things would be like if I acted on the other 99%

Here's a quote from an email I received 2 days ago:

"I sold a $67 ebook last year on how to get more traffic to your website, and it included a script that let us know how many people actually opened the ebook.

Out of the 1,000+ sales we made...85% of our buyers never opened the ebook."

I bet, at best, only half of those who bothered to open it made any effort to implement the strategies contained within.

I would say 5-10%.

To me having trouble getting started on a project is comparable to writer's block. You're simply paralyzed with information overload. There's so many directions you could take you can't choose and therefore go nowhere at all.

But once you get started, which is the hardest part, its almost like the flood gates open up and the ball gets rolling.

In general, people prefer to inform themselves about something rather than implement it.

The reason why most marketers find it difficult to implement is because they are scared to get it wrong, have no idea how to do it and they were never really convinced about it.

It makes a lot of sense to study a lot less but take insane action on each project. You can only learn and make money by performing tasks.

Forget about what's not working and what others are telling you, so that you can focus on what you can control and do yourself.

Good action almost always equals income.

I think it depends on the system. Most will not take action with quick rich systems.

They look at it, try it for a day and then find out it was a waste of money.

Now with a system that's works (has information you need) people will take more time on it.
It takes more time to even find that kind of system. Doesn't have quick cash advertised.

I think you would only count the "knowing the knowledge of IM" systems then the "your business is ready go make money" system.

The % for the systems that have true value are a lot higher then you think.

I believe its a fairly small amount... no one knows for sure, but making money online isn't hard...IF you take ACTION... and IF you provide a NO B.S. Good product. I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School owner and I have several online products for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as BJJ Instructors/Owner Marketing Courses and do pretty well with that !
