Slow and Steady Wins the Race!

Many people starting out in Internet Marketing think they will be the next success story and make millions within the next week. Unfortunately IM takes persistence, perseverance, dedication, hard work, and most importantly time. If you are just starting out in IM take your time to build the right kind of business that will benefit you for life. Success does not happen over night and all the products that promise you that are nonsense.

    You are absolutely right!

It seems so many people still think IM is all about 'get rich quick'.

    Thats true.

Internet Marketing takes time and patience, but that does not mean to sit around and wait for something to happen. You have to take advantage of every opportunity and make the most out of every relationship you forge.

I agree 100% and the new marketer wouldn't think they can make a million dollars overnight if so many products and guides didn't promise insane amounts of cash in a week with very little work.

Very good point...The products that are promoted today especially on Clickbank are SO misleading it's ridiculous. I remember when I first started out I fell for all of that crud. Although I knew I wasn't going to be rich overnight I was just a newbie looking for a place to learn the basics. Gaining knowledge is the best step for someone knew to IM...And the Warrior Forum is a great place to to start.

Yes it is......most of the products also want you to buy other things from them to make their original program actually work the way they say it will, if it works at all. Then, on top of that they promise the world to you from the beginning.

Buying Clickbank products won't make you rich, the seller gets rich. Most of the stuff on Clickbank is not worth buying a lot of it is re-hashed and out of date. I don't even bother looking at Clickbank - it's out of my 'bookmarks.

Persistence is the key to success!

Im not so sure if slow and steady wins the race here. It seems to me every time I want serious income is when I go all out in a weeks push instead of dragging it out. This is in terms of product launches though which is what I do the most.

I do also agree that having patience and understanding the time is the main thing in the internet marketing..

Another important thing is practice.. it is like maths... if you don't practice your maths than probably you will get low results in your exams..

Do hard work for months and get results in future if you are doing the things in the right way.. basic principle should be right..

if you basic principle is not right than what ever you do in internet marketing or affiliate marketing success will not come whether it is slow or fast..

Learn the process first and than go for momentum.. thanks for sharing this great information

Agreed and feel the people that think that it is an overnight success business have been sold so, so those selling programs in anyway that state that it is easy or overnight millions, are partially to blame or at least 50% to blame.

There are legitimate products that are honest but there are a lot of others that prey on people. Very sad.

Unfortunately it is very hard to find the products that are actually worth buying. But those products NEVER promise you overnight riches.

I wish starting out that I knew about the warrior forum and learned the basics here rather than falling victim to the garbage that is out on the web.

This is a very important principle! Here's a good illustration of it in action...

In a very popular Internet Marketing book that came out not too long ago, there were 2 case studies of people who ended up making money from Clickbank by uploading videos to youtube with Clickbank affiliate links placed on the youtube page.

Working through the numbers, both individuals saw profit at a rate of $14 EVERY month for each video that was uploaded....

Now, just by reading this fact, would you be willing to go slow and steady if you knew that by following the right steps, you could develop a huge income stream if you spent day after day, creating and uploading videos? Or would you give up saying, "Nah, that's too time consuming, I've got better things to do!"

By the way, both of those individuals make thousands of dollars EVERY MONTH as they've uploaded HUNDREDS of videos over time....

Did it take time and sacrifice? Absolutely! Was slow and steady worth it? What do you think!

You are completely right. It takes a lot of patience in this business. I know of many people who quit way too early and I know they would be making good money right now if they would have just stuck with it.

Nothing in life comes easy or without failures. When I first started internet marketing impatience wasn't my issue---it was learning how to manage my time correctly. I would spend valuable hours on tedious tasks that I should have been outsourcing.

Now that I focus solely on my copywriting my business has grown substantially.

I totally agree. When you start online you have to go into knowing it's going to take a while - and maybe a very long while.

Despite this, it's important to never give up! If you are considering starting an online business then you already know what it can do for you in your life.

Before you get started though, you must know that online success does not come overnight. The honest truth is that it is harder to build an online business than it was in the past. The "wild west days" of the Internet are over.

Only the people who are willing to put in work for the long haul are going to see success now. It can be done, there's no question. You just have to put in work consistently over time and you will eventually see results... Slow and steady wins the race fits perfectly in this case!

Although you cannot start IM today & be a millionaire
by next week, you can however increase your progress faster.

And that is by taking massive action on your online business.
By taking massive action, I do not mean spending the day
    reading sales letter & emails.

Take massive action in marketing your websites, writing to your list
promoting products, driving traffic to your website.

What I realized is that the thingsI learned which stuck with me
for the rest of my life are obtained by taking action & making
    mistakes along the way.

The more afraid you are of making mistakes, the slower you will
    reach your goals.

If only more people who are just starting out in IM had the "never give up" mind set we wouldn't see a 97% failure rate. They expect results to come so quickly when that is almost never the case.

Yes... even an overnight success take years in the making

We should see IM as a real business opportunity than a get-rich-quick road.
Unfortunately, many people doing IM because they heard a lot of people get rich quickly because of IM. Because of this mind set and mentality, they give up when they meet the first obstacle.

IM business is not different with other traditional business. It takes time, hard work, and dedication to grow. The main benefit of IM is you can reach thousands of people easily. You can serve more people, so you can get more money.

I have been working for 1 year on my website, and I expect 1 or 2 more years for it to rank. I'm ok with that I will just keep publishing articles about Truckers, and building a following with social media. I'm building a brand that way I won't have to rely on Google for my traffic.

I know If I never give up this site will pay off big time for me in the future. I already have a big following on Twitter, and Facebook. Word is spreading throughout the truck stops about me. I'm giving away my ebook for free to help build a following. I'm also helping Veterans for free. That is great publicity for my site. Slow and steady will work for me. My strong point is social Media. I can talk to Truckers, and blue collar workers in a language they understand. Because I am one of them always have been. Plus I ask them What do you want to read about? Then I write about it or research it for them. Give the people what they want, and don't spam them.

I found that on twitter when you have an automated message for new followers it turns them off right away. Read their profile use their name get to know them on a personal level. It takes time, and lot's of work but it will pay off in the long run.

Yes this is my policy too. Im in no hurry in making money. But if i make $100 today tomorrow i should make more than $100 or maintain that $100 mark..

I don't believe in the one time wonder, sneaky tricks, etc. because they dont constitute a real online business.

I just wanted to say thank you for this post. I don't have anything to add because I have just started the IM leg of my race, but I've suspected this based upon the growth of my main business over the last 3 years. It's helpful to see confirmation of that from people who have already been there, done that. Now I won't get mad at myself for not making 34,000 dollars in 30 days!
