How does ClickBank do this?

Hi, I'm starting to use ClickBank as an affiliate, and I was wondering about something. If the visitors I send to the vendor's website trough the HopLink don't buy the product immediatly but they take a few days or whatever... How is ClickBank going to know that that person has been referred by me?

IP tracking, I suppose? Just wanna make sure.

Thanks.

A cookie is set.. Cookies are small files that get stored on a visitors computer for thepurpose of remembering certain things. In this case, it is remembering who the affiliate was. Unless they clear their cookies or click on another affiliate's link, they will be "cookied" to you and you will get credit for the sale. The same goes for JVZoo and many other networks.

What happens is when someone clicks on your HopLink a 'cookie' is placed in their web browser. A cookie is basically just a piece of tracking data that stays on someone's web browser.

So even if someone doesn't buy immediately, if they go back in a few days the cookie (unless they cleared their browser cookies) will still be there and Clickbank will be able to tell that you referred them

Yes,Clickbank install a cookie on your visitors browser. So, when they come back again and buy, you still could get the commissions.

Clickbank cookie is set for 60 days. It means if your visitors came after 60 days period, you will not get commissions.
