XBOX Live as a teaching tool :)

I have this idea.

I want to get out to a younger audience and was wondering if anyone else thought this would be a cool method of getting to them.

Pretty much I want to be a mentor via XBOX Live. I know that limits my audience down quite a bit because it means they have to have an XBOX in order to participate, but that's not something that bothers me.

I see it this way. There are tons of people who charge hourly via phone conversations with clients. Why not have fun with the client, charge a low rate, give them all the bits of information they need and go on our ways, or even use this avenue as a method of coaching.

Thoughts?

That sounds like an interesting idea. So I assume you'd be playing CoD or some other with the client while giving them business advice. So kind of like having a meeting at a coffee shop, but more fun.

The only problem I see with this is how easily you both could get side-tracked by the game, so you'll need to figure out a way to prevent that. Deciding beforehand what exactly you'll talk about would work best. In addition, you could limit the sessions "content" so that you only present one piece of information at a time. That way they won't be overwhelmed with it and you won't need to spend so much time talking.

I just asked my son (who happened to just come downstairs for some munchies....with his Xbox headphones still on) what he thought of the concept.

His opinion........"No way, I don't want anything distracting me from the game".

Sorry....that's all I got out of him....he was in the middle of a game!
