Someone hijacked my browser and tried opening up bank accounts under my name..

Ok so I figured out why my connection to warrior forum was all messed up.

Let me make it clear, I am NOT even implying warrior forum had anything to do with this, I'm just posting this here because I haven't had serious problems like this till getting into marketing.

Lifelock called me today and said a man tried opening up 2 bank accounts over in arizona (I'm in NJ) under my own name.

I also realized my connection on warrior forum was messed up for a while, and when I brough it to my brother who's technician, he told me my browser was badly hijacked.

I have been using virus programs for years now. Paid versions, that did absolutely nothing to protect me. Although I realize other things might have caused it idk.

What I DO KNOW, and this is not an affiliate link, this is a referal because this software rocks. I'm sure lots of you guys know about it, but combofix absolutely OBLITERATED all the problems on my pc.

I was just shocked by how powerful this FREE software is compare to some of these crappy paid antivirus programs. I noticed my connection on warrior forum now works beautifully, I don't get this weird double clicking noise when I click in/out of pages (anyone know what that is? is that clickjacking I was experiencing?). Anytime I clicked ANYWHERE, I'd here the click on my speakers multiple times. When normally, you just click and hear the click sound in your speakers just once.

Needless to say, there was lots of shady stuff going on.

I rarely make recommendations like this for software, but combofix is the ****. I'm still going to reformat my pc as I just want to be safe, but I needed an immediate line of defense and I was suprised how well this program seemed to work.

So thats all, be careful and be sure to keep your pcs clean and virus free!

I have heard of people getting viruses, malware, hijackings, emails hacked, accounts hacked, etc. for so many years and it has never happened to me not once. Oh yeah, I use a Mac ;-) On a serious note, glad you got it taken care of. That is scary!

I use a mac too, but have been hearing a lot of stories lately about viruses and malware etc being aimed at macs lately.

Just done a search and it seems combofix can be used for macs as well.

To the OP - thanks for this I will be trying out combofix for myself and will be recommending that other members of my family try it as well.

NOTE: I found this comment on one of the download sites - so I guess it is a case of "buyer beware"

You should not run ComboFix unless you are specifically asked to by a helper. Also, due to the power of this tool it is strongly advised that you do not attempt to act upon any of the information displayed by ComboFix without supervision from someone who has been properly trained. If you do so, it may lead to problems with the normal functionality of your computer.

I am sorry this happened to you - it must have been a nightmare! At least the bank called you and stopped that mess from happening.
