New member looking for advice

Hi there folks, I understand that what I'm about to ask is actually quite rude and selfish, but I'm a new member to the forums and I'm just looking for some general advice and some good threads to read.

Yes I said good threads to read, I see so many people coming here and asking for people to come up with very specific advice for them, but I feel that would be very demanding of me, no, instead I'll just ask you kind people what you would advise I read and revise.

I suppose technically this isn't my first rodeo. In the past I've made about £600 from just one method in particular, but that was mostly just a fluke, and so far I'm unable to replicate similar results (though I'd love to keep on trying.) Stupidly I blew my money on unimportant things and now I'm left with very little, but still enough to have another run at it.

Besides that my skills reside primarily in writing, I'm also rather intelligent and can learn very quickly. In the past I've been known to try and do things the quicker, easier way, but have since learnt that it's better just to do something right first time rather than mess about trying to fix whatever mistakes you've made while attempting to evade some hard work. In that sense I guess I've turned over a new leaf that's turned me into a dilligent worker.

Anyway, that's enough of me babbling on, I know I have an unfortunate tendency to do so, but I hope to become a valuable member of this forum, as well as just a valuable person :p thanks for reading and hello!

-Dylan.

  • I certainly don't consider it to be rude to ask for general advice. But I think what's more important is what are you interested in?

Personally I'm very familiar with wrting great sales copy and generally anything to do with article writing and marketing.

So to reiterate my post ( which I do periodically:p) what are you interested in learning?
  • Thank you for your response.

Well, I could, should I choose to, offer my writing service to others, but really I would like a somewhat passive income. Something that could require a lot of work in the short-term but ultimately pay off somewhat reliably in the long-term. Auto-pilots spring to mind but I am dubious as to the effectiveness of these.

I also forgot to mention that I have experience in creating websites out of HTML, but have not yet learnt CSS, so have mainly just used templates to that end.

    • Hi, you already seem to have more knowledge than a lot of people who are out there. One idea, use your writing talents to develop a product and sell it!

You will be bulilding a list of buyers, whom if you treat well, will be a good source of repeatable income for you through email marketing.

So research the threads, for example: product creation, read some of the feedback and look at different products, purchase a wso on product creation or look at a mentorship program (depending on what you can spend) and get crackn..Kenster has a great coaching program when its open on product creation and other aspects of money making.

Use your writing talent to provide good value to your subscribers and profit, anyways just some general ideas, good luck~

  • You should look into creating a 100 page plus authority site in a niche you have an solid interest in. You can then have adsense on this, build a list and sell products to the list. Be your own online magazine.

    • Hey Dylan,

I am suggesting you a business model here which I feel suits your needs and online aspirations best. However before really grabbing it and running with it, think for yourself if that is what will make you happy and if you will bring in the passion into it that you must in order to succeed in any online business.

Leverage on your strengths! Your strength is writing and you must leverage on that to start with. So start writing content. Choose a popular niche write content for that which people buy from you.

You want passive income. To get that part into your business, focus on writing PLR content instead of writing unique content for customers. That way you can create a package of may be 10 articles to be sold for may be $10. This becomes a product you own that can be sold from your website even when you are sleeping (passive income). Get 15 - 20 such packs and you should have some money flowing in to keep you charged up. You will have to build a brand of your own but that goes with building any business.

You will find some very successful PLR sellers in this forum. You can learn a lot from each of them. Some names that come to my mind are Tiffany Dow, Tina Golden and Lisa Stoops. Have a look around how they build their brand by contributing massive value to this particular forum and in turn gain some loyal customers that are eager to buy from them every time they have something to offer.

You have got a great strength mate, make it count!

      Cheers

    • Thank you for your advice, however I hear the word "list" or "lists" thrown about quite often. I assume that this is referring to some kind of contact list or e-mail list, but I would just love someone to expand further.

Also, could you reccomend a good niche for me? I'm a techie by nature, I understand and enjoy things such as computers, softwares, phones, laptops, video games, that kind of thing. Are these profitable enough and are there any environments that aren't ridiculously competetive, or should I just put this out of my mind and not be intimidated by the larger businesses?
Are you speaking of an information product, such as an e-book or otherwise? I know that I am knowlegable in multiple areas, but I am unsure as to what information people are looking to buy. Thank you for your response.
Thank you kindly for the link, I shall read this as soon as possible.

  • Those are okay ideas for your first learning niche. Also don't be afraid of competitive niches - that just means that there's a lot of money to be made if you can outgrow the competition.

In any case, I think product creation or affiliate marketing will make you more money than going the Adsense route - there's simply better ROI and scalability in the former two methods.

  • This is not rude at all! Wise people ask for advice; that way you avoid making the same mistakes that others already have. People come here to share and give information.

    • Hey Mr!,

It would actually in this case for you to be more detailed in what you're after.

You have some great suggestions above.

It sounds like to me you're looking for a turn key system you can start working to get results.

      Is that what you're after?
