Are You Going Out Of The ORDINARY To Get Your Email Followups Read?

I always like going against the grain when trying to be different or get recognized when it comes to my marketing. I have been testing something and so far it seems like it's helping to get my emails read more (not opened, read) and click throughs are also higher.

If you have aweber, on the right hand side when you are creating an email, you have those templates. I have been using those. Are they kinda ugly and amateurish? Yes.

But what I realized the other day is that almost ALL the emails I get are formatted to 65 characters per line and smashed against the left side of the screen and just plain txt. And I am so used to it now I delete almost all my emails.

So, I thought I would do a test to see if putting something different in front of my readers eyes would make a difference and so far it seems like it really has.

Also I think this works better in some niches. For example in the health niche a lot of people already do newsletter looking templates. So instead I put more pictures in mine and bigger txt. Also in the IM niche since EVERYONE gets just those plain looking emails ANYTHING different seems to be getting a better click through and read rate.

I'm still testing but we'll see. Anyone else have any input or experiences?
