Affiliate Marketing Without A Website?

What are some ways and strategies to market affiliate products without a website? Is it even practical or essentially a waste of time?

Off the top of my head I'm thinking article submission sites, ask.com type sites, youtube videos with links, all with strategically placed links directly linking to the affiliate offer of course.

Has anybody had good experiences with this type of thing? Are there any niches that suit well for this?

I know there are a lot of people who have made money this way (bum marketing) but I wouldn't recommend it as a long-term strategy. You'd just be developing other people's web properties and ultimately don't have complete control of your business.

I agree. Rather than write articles for others, I suggest you become authority in that field and start your own website. You will have control over what products to sell there and most importantly, can build a list over time.

I tried that but never worked for me, most of the article submission sites want you to redirect you affiliate link with your own domain, Youtube videos might work but I don't think you will generate much money with, at least in my personal experience.

  • There are several different ways to do it. You have mentioned article marketing which does still work. YouTube, forum marketing and Facebook Fan pages are all ways to do affiliate marketing without a website.

Youtube definitely works, I wouldn't recommend anything other than youtube or your website personally however. Videos are usually easier & faster to rank as well. So if you're promoting lots of products Youtube is the way to go.

I once read an ebook from Simon here at the forum. He talks about using Yahoo answers for affiliate marketing. He says it works, so you can try that if you want. Personally, I think having a website is the best way to go. You get long-term profits out of it.

Can you make money in affiliate marketing without a website...sure. However, in my opinion there is a big difference between making a few sales and have a legitimate affiliate business.

Eventually, you are going to want your own blog/website so that you have 100% control over your content, a can start building & email list and/or writing product reviews.

If you really want to be successful as an affiliate marketer, and create a real long-term business you need 3 things:

    1. A website/blog
    2. Hosting (so your website will work)
    3. An autoresponder (so that you can build an email list of targeted prospects)

Lol no one mentioned forum marketing as one of the age old bum techniques. I know a lot of them don't allow aff links in sig files, {like WF} but there are still plenty that do. just my 2 pennies. =D

Create a viral PDF report with a bunch of affiliate links in it and give it away on Facebook and forums. But you should have a website.

There is a section of WF... where you can buy (and sell) WSOs. Some people make more than a decent living from that

If you don't have a website that means you aren't building a list, and if you aren't building a list then, well, you're doing it wrong.

I too asked this question in this forum a few months back. I was advised to have a website to market products. In fact it is always easy to have your own website in order to reach potential buyers.

There are ways to do affiliate marketing without a website. However, more than advantages, there are disadvantages doing affiliate marketing without a website. Having a website gives an edge and is beneficial for long term business.

After all, you need only one page website to start with. Click on my signature and you will get more information about it.

If you have ever heard of katie frelieng, she became very successful with her business all from social networking websites. Like facebook, twitter, etc. you dont need to have a website right away although it be a good idea, but the only things is you'll have to spend a few bucks keeping that website up. Social networking site...FREE.

Another option to do Affiliate Marketing without a website:
Advertise your affiliate products on other people's website

    A method to do this:
    1. Join Warriorplus/ JVzoo to become WSO affiliates
    2. Buy an adspace through Buy Sell Ads
    3. Pick a website that related with IM/ MMO niche, so you could get targeted traffic
    4. Direct linking your ads with your WSO

What you want is direct linking the offers. It is hard to convert and needs really good targetting. But I don't think anyone can do it.

I'm going down the route of promoting products as an affiate through Youtube. I haven't started yet but it's meant to be really effective if done well.

why wouldn't you want a website. it only costs $10 max for the first month(for the domain and hosting). If you can't afford that then you have bigger problems to worry about

For affiliate marketing, no website ===> no list ===> no real business.

In my experience, people asking whether it's possible to do affiliate marketing without a website sometimes turn out not quite to have appreciated that you can have your own website without needing any money or even a credit-card or PayPal account.

"Your own website", I said - not pages you can never own or control on someone else's site you can never own or control (like Blogger, HubPages, Wordpress.com or Squidoo) - those are not "your own website".

The question's more or less answered here, anyway (you can more or less substitute the words "affiliate sales" where it says "ClickBank sales"): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5210243

It's also the same subject (in only slightly different words) which is being discussed today in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-products.html

The reality is that it's often not quite as simple as "what people can afford", Fedor. Some people - for example because of the country in which they live - have no access to credit cards they can use online, and/or PayPal accounts. "Ability to afford" isn't always quite the same as "ability to purchase". Just saying ...

You actually can build a list without a website. You can host a web form with an aweber account, and promote that link instead of an affiliate link. If someone were dead set on marketing without their own site, that's probably what I'd suggest, so there is at least an asset being built.

With that said, I don't think it's all that smart to work that way. Owning a site gives you so much more control over the process.

    Best,

I wouldnt think this is a way to go, having your own site can save so much work and money in the long term by building a following and capturing leads that you can then use to drive traffic to affiliate offers, instead of having to keep looking for new everytime!

You should never use a direct affiliate link to promote an offer.

Put up a free website or blog on wordpress

Years ago I used direct linking to promote many affiliate offers.

Many times a number of affiliate programs will change or close down
    their link.

If that happens, you would immediately stop making money.

There are a lot of ways to do this as other people have mentioned. But I think one critically important thing is to at least have one website/domain that you can use as a redirect for your aff links. Aff links change, offers go down, better paying/converting ones appear, etc. and if you've linked directly to the offer then you're screwed. But if you link to your own domain and set up a PHP redirect for each offer, you can change the aff link anytime you want to.

Article marketing and video marketing are two of the fastest ways to get started in affiliate marketing, but in order to enjoy long-term success you need to build your own targeted email list of product buyers.

To tell the truth, I haven't tried it, but I read that it can be successful if you have the time to promote your product via many ways.
    Forum Posts
    Blog Comments
    Video creation
    Social network promotion
    Article writing
    etc etc

In my opinion, since you are promoting, is better to drive your customers to a site where they can also subscribe, this way you will be able to build an e-mail list too.
