How Social Media "Votes" Work?
I am a bit confused about a few things related to social media "votes" (likes, +1's, retweets, etc)
I understand that it may be different case for different social media sites but how would votes accumulate on Digg for example?
EXAMPLE: 20x different Digg accounts directly submitted example.com/article1 to digg.com
1) If 20x separate Digg accounts directly submit my article url to digg.com, will my page (on my site) show that 20x people have "digged" my page, even though none of them actually clicked on the button on my page?
2) If 20x separate digg accounts all submitted my url, would those votes accumulate on a per submission basis (from votes) or will they all contribute to the votes of each url?
3) Will each one of those 20x urls need to be upvoted individually in order to climb up the digg rankings or will they all contribute to each other?
I will do some testing but I was hoping someone could just point me in the right direction so I don't waste time.
Thanks
