Is Associated Content defunct?

I had always kind of held in the back of my mind that, if all else failed with my business, I could write articles for Associated Content and be paid, even if it's not very much. So today I tried to find Associated Content and there is some kind of Yahoo page but it looks totally different from the AC that I had actually written a few articles for before.

Does anyone know if it still exists? Are there other sites that pay for articles like AC did a few years ago?

Thanks for any input.

Yahoo purchased it a while back I believe:
Associated Content - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
That mentions it if you're interested.

If you're looking for a site to submit articles to and get paid I'd recommend constant-content.com. It takes longer to make money (you have to wait for sales) but the amount you get paid can be much higher.

    I hope that helps.

I am actually put off from using constant-content because I saw a lot of posts on another forum where repeatedly people shared their experiences of having a bunch of articles uploaded and no sales for months.

Not my idea of making money via freelance writing

The associated content or constant-content model are both slow ways to make any income, imo. Agree though that Contant-Content can pay you more, eventually.
