How Much Should I Sell My Website For?

So I am going to sell one of my websites. It is averaging 10000 unique visitors daily and the revenue is solely from adsense and it is averaging $ 60 daily currently.

update: the website is 6 months old and have decent design. I do not buy traffic or do any backlinking method.
I get natural links from users who use and love my website. The 80% traffic from Google, 15% direct traffic.
About 75 % traffic from United States, UK, Canada and Australia with 45 % from United States.

Based on the above information, what is a reasonable asking price for my website?

Thank you.

I'll give you $5 right here, right now.

I don't know the age of your domain, your backlinking methods, your traffic source, if your traffic is real or paid-for bots, or anything else that's relevant.

So...$5. PM me once you get enough posts to tell me if you're interested.

If you have a website that isn't worth as much, I would go on Flippa and sell that first. Ideally, sell a few. That will build your reputation and allow you to get a higher final price on your decent site. If you do that, you could probably expect $700 - $1500 for this site.

Going through a broker would be another option.

My bad, I read your $60 daily as '$60 monthly'. You should be able to expect a much higher selling price. Sorry about my boner math there.

You might be able to get 13 - 21x monthly revenue. So, $23,000 - $38,000. This is just an estimate, but probably a decent range. It depends on a lot of factors, history, linking, proof, reputation on Flippa, etc... And, I'm no expert on the issue.

Lots of buyers out there for AdSense sites right now though. Check out the AdSense Flippers | AdSense Sites | Niche Websites | Internet Businesses For Sale for more on this. Awesome guys, super smart, and they have some tips for selling on Flippa.

Usually the rule of thumb of website is about 7-12x their monthly revenue.

Personally I use flippa for all my larger websites, selling smaller sites on there can sometimes be much harder

This is much more accurate than the quote by JohnnyDeez. No disrespect to Johnny. I agree with him on a separate point that I'll get to in a minute. You can typically expect a sale price of around 10 months of revenue, give or take a little depending on a large variety of factors. Ten months is usually a good starting point to build your expectations around though.

At $60/day or $1,800/month, you could expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $18,000.

With that said, some factors that may impact this negatively are the fact that the site is only 6 months old (not a long history of earnings, and no domain age) and that the site probably has little or no pagerank considering it's age. It likely hasn't earned a lot of mozrank or domain authority yet either.

On the flip side of that coin, you're getting 300,000 unique visitors a month. This may help to offset a lot of the above negative factors, as anyone who is good at monetizing websites can easily get a whole lot more than $1,800 a month out of a website with that amount of traffic.

I strongly believe that the biggest issue for you will be how young the website is. My recommendation is to follow what Johnny said. Sell a less valuable website on flippa, or a few of them if possible. Build a reputation and get a feel for the process. This will help you tremendously when you're ready to sell this site. This serves the dual purpose of allowing this site to age more in the meantime. Let this one mature another 6 months, so that you can show a much stronger history of earnings. This will benefit you greatly also, and could potentially allow you to draw a lot more than 10 months revenue due to the income potential of the largely untapped traffic.

Regards, and best of luck to you.

Yes you could sell your website 10-12 time the monthly revenue...

So if your site gets $60/ daily = $1,800/ month, you could sell it for $18,000 ( 10 x monthly revenue)

If you want to sell it faster, you could sell it for 5-7 x monthly revenue.

Another tips: use Website Broker to sell your site, because your website is very expensive.

If your site is turnkey and your making money because of the seo work, you could fetch 10-20 x the monthly on Flippa. But, it really depends on the type of revenue source and how much SEO upkeep you have to do. The buyers on Flippa are a bit finicky, but they're serious about buying turnkey, cash generating sites.

On Flippa it tends to be 6x -12x monthly revenue. Things that take it to the higher end are Adsense sites, not a lot of work involved in making the revenue, good traffic, etc. Adsense sites typically do very well on Flippa. People love the passive income. Having earnings for six months is pretty good too. At least it has a little bit of earning history.

  • Hi

For a 6 months old website the price is around 4 to 6 months of revenue. The question is " How long will your site last?"

Of course, if there is a serious growth potential, this could be much more. Depends of your site concept.

    $ 7000 is a good deal.

I don't know the reason why you are willing to sell your website, where you already making $60 a day from Adsense.

I can tell you exactly why -- with the expectation of a big payout. If his Adsense site is generating $1800+ per month pretty much on autopilot, then he should be able to get 10x to maybe 15x the monthly income, putting it in the $18,000 to $27,000 range.

Not exactly chump change, and that lump sum can be used to reinvest into building more sites and paid advertising, for example. If you know what you're doing, you can easily leverage that lump sum payout into something much bigger.

On the bright side, it appears someone used the search function of this site for once (even if it was to self promote the sale of their own website).
