Facebook ads don't let you set CPM anymore?

I setup a campaign last night and getting a very good CTR.

My CPM isn't coming down much yet, but I want to bring it down manually.

I've tried to edit the ad and there's no setting for choosing how much I want to pay CPM.

It can't be non existent?

I believe it's still there, but Facebook isn't fond of it:

I'd wait for someone who's using FB Ads to give you a more detailed answer.

You can now promote posts on your fan page which is even more effective, try using that method instead.

Yeah , they only allow cost per click only and their suggestion bid is high . Worry that Facebook ads might expensive as Google Adwords in the future which per click can made up to $ 5 or more.

I am having the same problem! I thought that after some time the ad is running it will allow me to change the CPM budget, but nothing so far... Also very interested to find an answer for that. Thanks

Yes i can confirm that CPM manual bidding is now forbidden (no pun intended!)

There are good opportunities in sponsored stories in terms of CTR and lower bid price, and remember that you can send them to a tab of your page, so if you set up a squeeze page there/opt in form, then you can bump the facebook user to your email list, where the money can start to roll in more easily.

    Hope this helps.

ps. An html app like Static HTML: Iframes will suffice for setting up a squeeze offer to get their email.

I think they realise plenty of people have been manipulating things a bit to get penny clicks through the CPM option.

What Facebook realized is that now that they are a public company and General Motors has said their ads are INEFFECTIVE just days before their IPO, that they need to increase revenue by raising rates on anyone that will use their ads because the likelihood of the traditional HUGE AD BUYERS, i.e. the Walmarts, McDonald's, Pepsi, Cokes, Ford, GM, and Chryslers of the world AIN'T gonna be there long term.

That's a big hit to their bottom line. Gotta squeeze the little guys who figure out how to get the best bang for the buck in any way they can.
