How much to outsource a complete product launch?

I have a product Idea but would need to outsource almost everything...

- Squeeze pages
- Sales videos
- Auto responder emails
- members site creation
- customer service
- on/off site optimization.

Does anyone have any experience with this? About how much could I be looking at spending? upfront and recurring. Thinking about using odesk for most of the build.

Could I possibly leverage my product to get some pro bono help?

    You can outsource it all.

I'd put together a work sheet of tasks to be done in the order needed.

Put together a detailed list of exactly what you'd want done on each task.

I'd start posting one task (project) on oDesk.com. I'd suggest offering the project at a fixed price. You should get a number of applicants.

I'd communicate with the outsourcer chosen via Skype (if possible), but you can communicate by email.

Some of the outsourcers you award projects to will be good for other tasks in the future. You will end up building a group of your favorite outsourcers.

If you don't have any success with oDesk, or to see if your results can be better, consider using Elance.com implementing the same strategy.

    Hi,

I can't advice you on outsourcing the whole thing, I've always done all the above by myself. However if you want to save cost.

    - Squeeze pages - Optimizepress Wordpress Theme
    - Sales videos - Many services in the market -
    - Auto responder emails - Again you can hire from warrior forum
    - members site creation - Optimizepress Wordpress Theme You will need a plugin on top of that ( try wishlist)
    - customer service - You can outsource this again
    - on/off site optimization. - Again you can do this by yourself

I think just by creating the site yourself you could probably save a lot.

Either ways pm me if you need any help setting this up. I'll see what I can do

      Thanks for your advise!

The only reason I am looking to outsource most of the design work is to hopefully create a more appealing product. I use WordPress now for most of my sites. Optimizepress looks like a great product thanks.

The site seo optimization is difficult for me. It is a ton of work and don't seem to be getting me very far. Building quality backlinks takes a lot of time and the competing sites seem to have 1,000's 0r 100,000's of links. I am not lazy, and spend quite a lot of time in this area. How do I compete?

    Hi,

Sure, you can "outsource" the whole michelada

You're going to need a graphics guy, copywriter, SEO guy, video guy, and VA for the customer service and to set up the members site.

It's probably impossible to put a price on it since there's way too many variables listed out along with way too many levels of skill that can be used for most of the tasks.

This is a complex thing you're asking about and it would take considerable time and research to find people if you have a low budget.

I would suggest that you get started by finding a successful coach to guide you through the process because with someone's help you would be able to get lots of short cuts with their list of connections and experience.

Paying someone up to $200 to point you in the right way can be a super smart investment which should be STRONGLY considered.

    Best of Luck,

    Justin

    Hey OP!

I read this post with interest as we're currently in the process of development for several products/tools and will be releasing them closer to the end of the year. As others have mentioned, you can outsource pieces of it through oDesk, do some of it yourself, etc...but like you I was interested to see if there was an All-In-One type solution/offer for this. I hadn't come across any in my brief research.

It's an interesting opportunity though, eh? Have like 3-5 packages at various levels, depending on the type of launch you're looking for and the depth of the product. You could then sell those packages and the ongoing service/maintenance that might come along with managing affiliates...someone could make some real money here, I think.

Mike Hersh - It seems like you're in a pretty good position to put this kind of offer together. I read through your links...it didn't seem that your site was very well built-out, but I think I get what you're trying to do. The cool thing here is putting it in packages...maybe ranging from $400-$5,000 depending on what's included? You could charge ongoing/recurring fees for management as well...that would be pretty neat. You might want to consider a package for an already established product...it looks like you're targeting people that don't have a product in mind yet?

  • Hire a project manager: onlinejobs.ph, odesk ect.. You can also find product creators and V.A.'s in the warriors for hire section in the WSO forum.

I have a lot of products being created right now and I am looking for the same thing. If you PM me perhaps we can JV or share resources. I have to hire a VA right now as the work load has become unbelievable.

You can outsource the whole entire process,

But the cost is going to be dependent on the amount of work that is going to be required. if its a small launch or an extremely large launch.

Before you start hiring a slew of workers, I would hire a single project manager (if you can afford it and are looking to completely outsource it). Be very careful when selecting your project manager.

Then your project manager will work in sync with you to help create your process and make everything run smoothly

In my experience outsourcing on oDesk, data entry is about 20cents per hour, writing (reasonable but not perfect), around a dollar an hour, WordPress customization about $15 per hour.

I prefer to break a process down into the smallest possible chunks to outsource, that way I have more control, and can get better prices, and avoid confusing the workers

I use only fixed-price jobs on oDesk, that way I know for sure that I will never pay anything until the job is finished to my satisfaction.

    It works for me

Not sure about the rest of it, but I can speak to the programming bit.

You could spend 1k or 20k on a membership site. It all depends on how you build it, what kind of programmer/designer you hire, etc...

If you go the WordPress/WishList route, (and want things customized). You'll need at least a front-end developer who has some design and php skills. If you're not sure how to go about finding one, I wrote about it here -> Hiring Freelance Programmers on Odesk

Most programmers probably won't want to do a partnership or revenue share deal (at least not on ODesk). But that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

Good luck! I Hope you get it all put together. PM me if you have any specific questions. :-)
