How to hide a thank you page with a video from the search engines?

When you are giving away a ebook or video for list building and want to hide the page from the search engines what do you do? Robots.txt? If so how do you do this I have looked all over the place and it seems confusing as hell! Is there a plugin that does this?
#engines #hide #page #search #video

    I use Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin. Once you create a new page, you'll see a box underneath the content box. Click on the third tab and you can noindex, nofollow your page. This doesn't always work, though, so you should really look into using an autoresponder so you don't have to worry about people grabbing your stuff.

    Anyone know of a video that shows exactly how to do robots.txt for a page?

    The usual way to tell the search engines you do not want a page indexed is by placing the following meta tag in the <head> section of the page.

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

    That method is NOT foolproof though. In this day and age you really should be protecting your download pages with some sort of members area -- there are so many cheap and easy options available that there really is no excuse.

      For my later content I will but for the freebie I don't want to inconvenience them with having passwords and stuff or is this something not to worry about?
