Extremely Serious/Committed To Getting Starting With Offline Marketing - Where Do I Begin?

Hi Offline Warriors!

I am very serious about jumping into Offline Marketing, but I need a little bit more direction before I go out and start selling / advertising to potential local businesses.

Here's what I need help with:

1.) Can you recommend any guides / resources that will give a a complete step-by-step marketing plan & suggest how I can package my services?

2.) Do you have any words of wisdom that you could share with me on how to succeed with offline marketing?

3.) What kind of local businesses are most hungry for online marketing services? Ex. restaurants? professional service providers? retailers? etc

4.) What kind of services seem most attractive to local businesses? Ex. lead generation, SEO, web design, etc...

5.) Do you offer a standard package - if so what does your package include? Or do you customize your service offerings based on what your clients needs are?

6.) I live in a big suburb just outside of Toronto - can one find success offering online marketing services to local businesses outside of a major city, or should the focus be on businesses within a city like Toronto instead?

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

    As far as recommending a guide...

    I wrote a really popular report that sounds like it is exactly what you are looking for.

    It goes over specific packages to offer offline businesses and it teaches you how to do each task, step-by-step.

    Get a plan FIRST and talk to business owners. Some people recommend just talk to business owners with (no real plan in place). Having a mixture of both (in my opinion) is wise. Joining you local Chamber of Commerce is a great place to start. Eventually, if your confident enough, you want to graduate and give away free speeches and conduct marketing workshops/bootcamps!

    Greetings Matt,

    The best advice I can offer... FOCUS!!!

    Create mini-goals and don't stop or turn until it's accomplished. Then, move to the next.

    After great success back in the late 90's, lack of focus caused me to waste time, money and resources. :confused: I'm better now.

    Determine ONE project and either make it a success or fail at it quickly. Then, regardless of the outcome move on to the next project.

    The "IM Failure Farm" is filled with aimless "puddle-jumpers" chasing after vapor dreams instead of holding their ground and creating a viable business. (couldn't resist the poetic symmetry)

    Remember that off line businesses are easily 'snowed and miss-informed' by clever sales talk using acronyms and smoke and mirrors.

    Reduce their expenses and show them where their new customers are - those are the two things they all want.

    Do it right and they will be happy to pay you to get started and even happier to pay for other services out of the money you have saved them.

    But as far as advice I would sit down, grab a pen and pad and work out a strategy of what you want to offer offline biz owners. Then hit the sidewalk or phone!
