Optin best place to convert?

Hi guys,

I´m preparing an Optin campaign and basically i would like to know from the vets what converts better:

a) Having the optin in the homepage of the money site (where i sell services)
b) Having the optin in a Squeeze/landing page

I think using in the homepage probably will make many potential customers to flee since many people don´t like see popovers to subscribe, but in the other hand i see so many optins in homepages of some huge websites that i´m a bit confused.
Landing pages i know they are good for that but in the end what do you believe it will convert better?

    Generally squeeze pages will get more opt-ins than anything else as they're very to-the-point and visitors don't get distracted by "doing other things" such as reading a blog, etc. But make sure the squeeze page is good!

    You see opt-in forms on many other websites because it's simply another opportunity to get leads into their system. Hands down squeeze pages convert better. With no distractions and a clear call to action, the visitor has only two options, opt-in, or opt-off lol. You should be looking to generate leads from more than one source. Have opt-in below your posts, in the sidebar, on a squeeze page... wherever you can without it seeming like you're a desperate salesman prepared to chase them down the street for $10.

      thanks guys i will probably prepare a few squeeze pages in a few domains and also probably will do the same in the money website
