Two notes. One sarcastic, one not.

Sarcastic: Now that you've BS'ed your way through 3,000 posts, get the heck outta' here already!

Not: I LOVE Disney World too. It's amazing. Perfectly clean, everyone's kind, everything is on time... working... utter perfection (at least the past two times I've went which happen to be in the last three years - haha!)...

Great post Joe!

I often find that customer service is neglected in this business. In fact, I frequently get customers that are so thrilled with me that they proclaim me to have the best customer service ever simply because I reply to their emails. That's it. I don't even do anything for them, just reply and maybe answer a question.

So, you see, sometimes you don't even have to put in a lot of effort to provide great customer service.

Great post Joe - I enjoyed reading it. 3000 words in 3000 posts? Can't wait for your 4000th.

I love the story of Johnny the Bagger. I have a video of Barabra telling it on my site. It is a very moving story that really shows how anyone can make a difference if they really want to.

I'm still new at IM but I see good customer service and quality products as very important in business, without the customer their won't be a business and if they aren't happy with your product or service they won't come back for repeat business.

It's such a cool anecdote. I remember thinking at first that there was no way that worked too. How the heck does a slip of paper in a grocery bag entice an entire grocery store full of customers to put up with a huge line to see him? It took a while to learn, but those small gestures are a pretty big thing in the lives of a lot of people.
