"I want to learn how to make money without any stress."

It's funny...when you start out there is the frustration of multiple failures and not having money to pay your bills, etc. Certainly stressful.

Success however, brings its own stress level that I have to admit I was not fully prepared for. Customer service, accountants, lawyers, technical concerns, contractors/employees and on and on.

I'll still take success though.

In short, there is always going to be a certain amount of stress present.

If you find the magical money button that creates profit without any stress...press it a few times for me.

You've asked some very fundamental questions, here's my take...

1. Yes it can be, very much so.

2. It usually is if you don't have a clue what you're doing, what your real goals are, etc.

3. No, in fact I'd say she has the right thinking cap on, unless she's just lazy she's thinking the right way which is, how do I get those proven techniques that won't have me breaking my back and wasting money, after all that's what it's all about right? So she's on point

4. No way unless like I said she's just a lazy person looking for unjustified short cuts. If instead she's ready to implement great advice that will ensure she cuts out a lot of the stressful journey even if it means spending a little more than she'd anticipated or inputting a little extra elbow grease at first, she's not hampering herself at all thinking that way.

If more people thought like this with the positive mindset to get to the top by doing things ethically and the best way etc, there would be far less crash and burn stories.

I think for a lot of people they do have the attitude of thinking that they are going to live life on easy street with their home business.
If this is the case with this person they will need someone to set them straight and show them the true reality of this business quickly or they will definitely become frustrated and headed down a long hard road which ultimately can lead to giving up.

Since you mentioned this is a group for moms though, I'm wondering if she is talking about having a job where she does not have to go through the stress of working outside the home and come home at the end of the day and have to do all her jobs at home too. Just a thought.

Either way, she probably, like most people, doesn't really know what all is involved with running a home business and will probably need a lot of guidance.

I agree with the above poster in that it is all in the attitude of the person. I have found that working online is less stressful in that I am working for myself and not reporting to anyone (except my husband), but the stress comes in the fact that your income is not guaranteed as it is in a 9 to 5 job.

But I just love the fact that I wake up everyday and my income for that day is unlimited!!

Being a mom is stressful enough, starting a new business (offline or offline) can bring on another set of stressful conditions.

She'll probably learn about the challenges involved in making money from home and how to deal with them through advice from you and your group members.

Seems like it. I've met many people who think setting up a successful/lucrative Internet-based business is a piece of cake. They believe they can make tons of money online very quickly with hardly any effort at all.

I think the answer is going to vary from person to person. In order to give an honest answer, you'd need to know the person really well I think.

From my point of view, working from home and having my own business is a lot less stress than working a job.

But on the other hand, I have buddies who are literally terrified at the sheer idea of having to make money under their own steam.

I guess the question is too subjective to answer thoroughly, but I think Andy up there ^^ raises a good point. Ultimately it's up to us to control the stress in our life.

I think many people feel stress at first, but we can handle the stress after our efforts is working.. As a friend, I wish you luck in whatever you do, don't give up! Be focus!

I can relate well to what the mom is saying. I've been designing websites for people for ten years as a self-taught stay-at-home mom, in addition to doing event videography. Then I moved from Tennessee to Minnesota to remarry and left all of my clients behind.

I decided last fall that it was time to start doing something that I could really make some money at. I've been learning about internet marketing and finally have a decent grasp on the terminology and different methods available. I jumped in to many lists because I am one of those people who like to study (to death!) my options.

Did you guys know that there are at least 85,270 ways to make money online out there? Talk about stress!

Now I am at the point that I have to take action. I like the Offline marketing option, but even in that there are so many WSO's, reports, forums, gurus, and ways to get started that it's stressful for me to get moving. I know that any number of methods will work, so doubt is not my problem. I want to find something that I will enjoy and that will make good money. I've always had a difficult time charging people. I guess that comes from my "I would never pay someone to do that--I would just do it myself" attitude.

Next week my children have the week off from school and my husband will be home to take care of them. I am going to spend the week talking to small business owners. I have until then to figure out my game plan. I need to figure out what exactly I am going to offer and how much I am going to charge.

I've read so many helpful comments and suggestions from people, so now I just need to get moving!

If you are into IM just to make money, yes, it can get stressful!

But if you do it out of passion and interest, making money being secondary, it need not be that stressful but enjoyable instead.

For me, I love what I am doing which is why I never regretted quitting corporate life 8 months ago for the one I am leading now.

It doesn't matter if she works online or offline. If she's not working on something that feeds her passion, she's going to get stressed. Working toward your passion can very well lessen the stress.

On the other hand, some people are just more prone to being stressed than others. And on the contrary, some people can handle any situation as smooth as a jay bird.

She might need to do some work on her inner being before searching for an outer presence to correct something that may be caused from an internal stimulation.

As far as having and running a stress free business I think if you are passionate about it and love the "work" then the normal stress does not turn into a big deal.

For instance when you start your Star Trek Center For All Things Trekkie ( Still waiting for my Spock bobblehead by the way) your stress level will not be the same as the woman who hates her niche.

People who "do what they love" do find sometimes that the money will follow because they work longer and harder because it is not "work".

Perhaps she meant the stress of finding reliable childcare that was affordable enough to justify working outside the home. Or perhaps she meant the stress of leaving small children with strangers at any price - the idea of other people looking after my kids when they were tiny was enough of a driving force in itself to get me working from home.

While most people can get stressed fairly easily many find even with the learning curve a home based business (this covers Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Copyrighting, etc) is a stress reliever. Why? All of a sudden you don't have the traffic and the projects you are taking on are your decision and not being delegated. You have removed office politics and being penalized if one or members of the staff didn't perform the proper work load.

Stress can be due to struggling to make end meet each month. Prioritise your needs, drop those secondary ones ... and you will find yourself have less commitments, and "lighter" in some ways.

Stress: I think it all depends on how broke you are when you begin your at-home job (just-over-broke)!

The most stressful thing I find about working is when things don't go smoothly, to take the stress out of work it is simply a case of organising your time, having realistic goals and prioritising your work.

Certain levels of stress are acceptable and are needed to ensure you actually have a motivation to work, but when stress caused by a job starts to affect other areas of your life you have a problem.

Who wants to be a millionaire, if your on your laptop 16 hours a day? Not me. I work a civalised 10-6 online monday - friday. If there is extra work on I will sometimes work online, but if you are smart enough about what you do, you shouldn't find any need to work above 40 hours a week.

If some people on here are having a stress free life and making £1000s doing a couple of hours a day I applaud you, it is the position I want to reach.

OP, I think it comes down to what you find stressful. One person might find going to work a job each day stressful; another might find working at home without direction or a safety net stressful.

I don't think earning money online is EVER stress free.

I don't think making money of any kind will ever come without stress of some kind. But, as far as it being stress free I'd guess that would depend on how well you deal with challenges and if you actually enjoy doing what you're doing. Doing IM would probably be less stressful then dealing with 3 kids running around the house but may be stressful if you don't really have any idea what you're doing and just piss your money away on paid traffic. So at the end of the day it's going to be somewhat stressful whether you're making a load of cash or not it just depends on what level you will be affected by what challenges.

My suggestion, learn IM, and use EFT (emofree.com) to remove any stress from that and everything else in your life

From that, I would gather that she's already made a few attempts to make money, but so far has been unsuccessful. Flip-flopping around from method to method when you don't see success right away, enforcing ideas of "What the hell am I doing" and "Can I really do this?"

Of course, asking your mind both these questions is detrimental - you're telling your unconscious mind that you don't really believe in yourself. Those dwindling attempts seem to only reinforce that.

I can see where she's coming from... setting your own hours, working by YOUR means, making money according to YOU - considering how most of us were socially conditioned into answering to someone else in order to put food on the table, yes, that IS stressful. Should you succeed, it is, potentially, an entirely new reality. Fear of failure is one thing, but fear of success is just as real as well.

The familiar vs fear of the unknown. I think everybody contends with that to some degree at some point in their lives.

Working through that fear, however, is an act of will...

when you begin in this money making world the stress become part of your life (in my opinion) and when she puted with out stress i think she meant an autopilot system! i guess, but the best answer you can give to her is that: internet marketing is a very difficult world and with out work you won't succeed there are some methods that dont need so much time... but it all needs at least a few minutes...

with out stress? just be simple and tell her to use Fiverr - Hire people to do things for $5

Making money from home essentially means having your own business. That means you are in charge of EVERYTHING. Even when you pass a monetary threshold, and can outsource, managing a staff adds a whole new level of responsibility. I think the new member of your group is in for a world of disappointment.

Being organised reduces stress there is not one business in the world where making money has no stress associated with .keep calm focus get up and go for a walk if it gets too much and most of all enjoy the journey .

No stress is everywhere, being poor causes stress and having money causes stress. I have four monthly paid virtual workers, you don't think they stress me out?
Stress is a part of life and we wouldn't know what to do without it.

Stress is self applied. I know many don't agree with this but i've been convinced by several knowledgeable folks of two things........1 there is no such thing as zero stress, and if fact it would not be good for us. Stress needs to be controlled. 2 ALL long term stress is self inflicted, and it can be lowered by some effort.
So, there will be some, just keep it at a non-dangerous level

I think it depends on the type of person you are. Some people get stressed easily. Some people never get stressed.

I think its impossible to do a business without stress.

Making money online is a business. As with any business out there, there will always be stress.

Stress could arise from your ranks dropping, your servers crashing, to even your computer not starting up.

I believe this person had the wrong mentality. She had the mentality that IMing is an easy way to create thousands of dollars with a push of a button.

Finally yes that kind of think will hamper her success. Once she starts thinking like a SEO she will start making money.

Well my thought is -the making money online world is full of stress! I know maybe your new group mate is excited of the fact of no boss, make your own pay check type of idea. But you must let her face the reality now. Making money online does involve stress, effort and patience for results.

In my opinion and in my experience - Learn first the Stress management then Start earning Money Online.

I personally believe that anything and everything can be stress free as long as you can harness the stress and use it for good. For instance I took up shaolin kungfu for a number of years and they always preach "stress is good for the body as it heightens the level of awareness" now fortunantly kung fu is nothing compared to marketing (well at times it can be) but using your stress to better yourself in any area of your life is to truly be "stress free"

I don't know that you can...if by eliminating stress you meant that you want to learn how to make money without hard work.

For me, all the successes that I have so far involves some form of stress. And the bigger the reward/result, the more stress it involves.

Doing and learning something new like make money involves some effort and unknown, so naturally stress is inevitable esp. as it adds to whatever current workload we have. If there's no stress, you are probably just learning/reading and not doing (taking action, hitting road bumps etc.). My 2 cents.

I can honestly say that my online business is completely stress-free and has been for the last 5 years. I attribute it to a few things:

1) I have a full-time job, so I don’t rely on it for income.
2) Since I don’t rely on it for income, I put the systems in place to handle most things without me. That means I go on vacations and don’t worry about whether or not emails are getting answered or things are getting done.
3) Problems are easier to solve in this business. If you make a big error at a large company, most times you can’t eat the cost. At my company, I aim to make the customer happy. So if I really screwed up, I just let them keep the product and refund the money..maybe throw something extra in if I really screw up. I have over 70K small customers, instead of a few big ones.

I think the dependence on a job is stressful, because you can’t afford to make big mistakes. I’ve found that online income even makes a daytime job less stressfull.

I don't think that there's no stress when it comes in working esp. if the things you planned so well didn't go as what you expected. Thus, let's face it that it's part. You will be in rough time sometimes.

Someone accused me of being in a get rich quick scheme because I make money online. It was the longest get rich scheme in history.

Making money online is a business with a learning curve. It is worth it but the stress when you begin...................well we all know! If you are determined, the life style is worth it.

Everything has a stress, even not doing anything the whole day can give you a lot of stress more than starting business online.

First get into the right mindset of setting up an actual business. Once you do that and admit the fact you will have to work, you'll get success.

People think that there is some get rich quick scheme waiting around the bend, and boy wouldn't that be nice ;-) Any one that knows anything about working online knows that there is a level of stress to it, it's a different kind of challenge, though it is a great sense of accomplishment. In my personal opinion, the freedom from working at home and being in my "arena" all day is well worth it. It takes work and perseverance, but it pays off!

Learning to make money online takes you a lot of time to master everything. Stress is already a part of it, but you can easily relieve it with anti-stress vitamins or capsules, or even take a break for yourself at least an hour or two.

At the beginning, there will be some or lots of stress depends on individual.

Once you start getting some consistent income, less stress & more happiness.

Making money without stress or ambition from home is simply impossible in my opinion.

Working at home does reduce the amount of stress you may experience. But it is a challenge.

As long as she doesn't confuse stress with a challenge then it may work out for her.
