So I'd like to try to sell one of my blogs. I understand how to advertise on site point and that sort of thing. What I don't know is what to do is once someone buys the blog, how do I transfer it over to them? I may be a little technically challenged, but I'm not afraid to jump in and try things if I have good directions.

Any advice on where I might be able to get this information?

Thanks!

If you have cPanel with reseller hosting you can simply give them the account info.

Otherwise, you'll have to make backups of all the files in the directory and any databases that you've used. phpMyAdmin works for the databases.

With the domain, if you use GoDaddy, Namecheap, or other similar registrars then you simply push the domain to them when the files are transferred. If you've got a registrar that doesn't allow this then you'll have to find a way to give them your account or push the domain to a new one.

    Hope that helps.

If your blog is based on Wordpress, then you might find this useful: How to transfer your wordpress blog from one host to another host | Hosting and Domains | Cormac Moylan

Or, I wrote a Wordpress transfer guide sometime back. I just uploaded it, http://www.splitstack.com/blogtransfer.pdf
