what happened to my amazon orders

Don't worry - My order gave nearly 2 month after my order but it was on Amazon but from one of the sellers.

My question is did you order the products off Amazon or the Amazon Sellers?

The orders were off amazon...

Anyway, at least I get a picture now of how it works... so it means that orders does not mean actual sale but potential earning until the order is shipped to call it a sale.

First, a clarification. You did not 'lose' earnings. Until an order ships, there are no earnings to lose.

Second, as long as the orders still show 'to be shipped', there is still hope. Sometimes orders get delayed for a variety of reasons, the most common of which is that an item is out of stock in the warehouse and replacements have yet to arrive.

Third, it's a fact of business. Some orders just never go through, often due to payment problems. Use of stolen credit cards is another one. One of my very first big sales was a pair of large-screen plasma TVs, back when two of them made a 5-figure order. It never shipped, and it turned out that they used a stolen card for the order.

Wait until someone returns something and the commission is docked from your check, which also happens. That's when I start counting 'lost earnings'...

I wondered why some orders never shipped, too. So, I read Amazon's explanation. It basically says when someone places something in their cart they count that as items ORDERED. When they actually ship it counts as items SHIPPED, and you get credited.

The discrepancy between the two figures could mean the person changed their minds or just couldn't complete the order for whatever reason.

Bottom line: Amazon did not make a sale and, therefore, neither did you. If and when it gets shipped, you will get credited. But, it does take about 60 days before they actually deposit the money in your account.

  Third-party sellers don't get paid until the order ships, either, so they're worse off than you. You're just getting a small percentage of the sale, whereas their take is substantial.
  
  And yet 3P sellers, for the most part, love selling on Amazon. Traffic, baby, and the long tail.

Have you sold other TVs since then? I have a review site where I make 1500+ words, detailed, well written TV reviews equipped with images and videos. I got clicks but no sales. I'm about to come to believe that people don't buy expensive things like TVs online.

ePN will pay you for clicks, though not much.

People do buy expensive things like TVs online. Are you overcoming their objections or are you just putting up passive reviews? You actually have to do a job of selling to send pre-sold traffic to Amazon. Not saying this is you, but sometimes people get so caught up in trying to please search engines they forget to convince the customer to buy.

Not intentionally. I wasn't trying to sell TVs when that order went in. That's part of what made it so exciting. I was actually promoting a box set of DVDs for around $100 (complete set of a popular TV sitcom).

My guess is that your reviews, no matter how well written and illustrated, are fairly generic. I mean, written for everybody. There's an old saw that says, "if you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody."

For example, when I replaced the TV in my living room a couple of years ago, I spent a lot of time researching online before we bought one. I read a bunch of reviews. Wait, let me rephrase that. I read a handful of reviews, rewritten dozens of times, all following the same template and all telling me nothing I couldn't learn from the manufacturer or the sales page of one of the big online retailers.

So how did I end up buying the one I did? It was a happy combination of good reviews by authority sources like Consumer Reports and a sale price. I also ended up buying it from my local Best Buy store.

Why?

I was replacing a monstrosity of a 39" tube TV that weighed almost 300 pounds, and with the model I bought, BB delivered the new TV, hooked it up, and hauled the old one away for free. If I'd had to dispose of it myself, I would have had to find a way to wrestle it to the recycle center and pay to dump it.

People do buy electronics online, but sometimes other things get in the way. I've purchased higher-ticket items online before and since.

What you may want to try, and I admit it's counter-intuitive, is to aim your reviews at smaller, more specific groups than 'everybody looking for TV reviews'. One that pops into mind, as I just saw an example on TV, is 'TVs suitable for hiding in a cabinet'. Another is TVs suitable for use outdoors. A lot of people put TVs out on their lanais ('lanai' is Floridian for patio

).

people buy expensive things online ALL THE TIME. The most expensive item I've sold on amazon was a Bracelet or accessories worth $3800

yep its one order and I've sold many expensive items before.

Having authority & detailed 1500 words certainly will help,

when you say you got clicks but no sales, how many clicks are you talking about here?

I dare say with confidence for every 100 clicks I get to my amazon affiliate link , I know for sure (99% of the time) I can get at least 1 sale ( average about 3 )

So if you're getting a lot of hits to your affiliate link and no sales, I would look at the TV itself. Is the product selling well ( are there many customer reviews)?

If your source of traffic is NOT from the search engines and perhaps banner ads, you may want to look at where your traffic is coming from as well.

Don't worry, this happens often enough as you sell more in Amazon. There will quite often be a couple of shippings less than orders, because customers at times change their minds and refund the orders, which is not reflected in the stats.

For any tax and earning purposes, ignore the ordered items list. That's only indicative. Check with the shipped items list. That's actual.

This thing happened to me several months ago. It was my first sale and I was over the moon but the order never shipped. I mailed amazon and asked the reason. They said the order had been cancelled.

Hi! Don't worry, it might cause a delay but they will surely be shipped to you, however i would recommend you to contact the Amazon's Customer Support immediately, as they can surely guide you in the best and the most effective manner. However there is nothing to worry about, but make sure that you tell the entire details to the Amazon Custom Support, followed by the details of all the orders and tickets etc. I hops this post is helpful to you
