Easy way for Twitter followers?

I am trying to speed up my 'following people' Twitter plan.
I go to authority tweeters in my niche. I click on their followers and then try to target some of them as likely prospects. This was recommended on here. It is slower than watching flowers grow. LOL.
Can anybody help? PLEASE?
I'm looking for for targeted tweeters. Am I wasting my time looking for a better method than the one above ?
I have read 100's of posts on here but they all suggest it can only be done very, very slowly. I am at the stage where I am thinking of forgeting Twitter and switching to something more effective.

    You can't expect to get targeted tweeters/followers fast, you should start following authority tweeters in your niche, like you said you have already done. And then start tweeting interesting information/videos/tutorials about your niche.

    Try to get some conversations going with other people in your niche, or find other people that are in your situation, and make them tweet something like "Follow @Yourtwitter" and you do the same for him.

    Overall you can't expect to get targeted followers fast, it's a slow progress but you won't regret it once it's done.

      ^^This. The auto-follow softwares and all that crap used to allow people to spam Twitter at will to get "targeted prospects", but fortunately the big ones are all facing a lawsuit now.

      It's going to take time, and frankly it is time that I would recommend putting into a better traffic source.

        Hi Joe, Thanks for the advice. It seems like it is aa lot of work and time for uncertain results. I'll keep my twitter just ticking over and put my efforts into a better traffic source. Perhaps you could suggest what you think are couple of better sources?

          Sure, leverage the websites in your niche. Take the traffic straight from your competition, with them being happy to give it to you. How? With article syndication of course:

          Not everyone can just jump into it though, so either practice writing great stuff yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

    I put a follow me button on my web sites front page. That helps you gain more exposure. Also, I add a ticker with my latest tweets to give my viewers news.

    Building up a following takes time, there is no way to speed it up unless you create a viral storm, then you will get lots of followers.

    Even software doesnt speed the process up than much considering, your twitter account can get suspended if you follow/unfollow too many people at once.

    you can have thousands of followers on twitter, but first you have to do is give you benefit for your follower. or you can write a review about something then it will be many people who will follow up you.

    If I were you I would focus on delivering value to your target audience. First find out where your target audience hangs out and then position your information in front of them. I will give you some examples. Solo ads, ppc, banner ads, You Tube videos, forum relationship building/signatures, etc.

    Buy a WSO and don't expect information like that just posted here cause you asked. I could tell you why... but it wouldn't be fair to those selling the information. Want a crap response? Ask the question here and get answers from people who are either just regurgitating crap they've heard before (most likely never having done it themselves) or get bad information that'll get your Twitter account banned (like using bots to get followers).

    Hi Brian, That is a bit harsh but is can be true at times. Most of the posters on this forum are trying to help. 70% of what know I learned here at this great forum. Most of the rest of it, I was lead to from posts, links and ideas I read here. I got some info from this thread.
    Joe R. confirmed what I was beginning to realise. Twitter is time consuming to handle and slow to show results. I will post about this when I have time to think more.

    You can try to exchange twitters, you follow them, they follow you back.
    Add a follow me button on your site, or on your forum signature.

    Is not easy to find followers if you don't promote your Twitter account, if you have time, create videos and add them on Yoututbe with your twitter account link on the description.

    Yes unfortunately this is probably your best bet for adding twitter followers it is a slow and long winded process but trust me when I tell you it will pay off long-term twitter users are very active online and if you build up a good relationship with your followers they will pretty much respond to all of your messages and follow your links.

    All I would say to increase your followers become very active on twitter provides great information and interact with your followers.

    A good way to find new followers and interact with them is by using the search function search.twitter.com you can enter a keyword for example stop smoking and anybody that mentions stop smoking in their tweets will be brought up as a search results so you can jump in and have a conversation with them about stoping smoking or whatever your niche is about.

    This is a good way to interact with people and they will naturally follow you if you provide good information.

    I use to think Twitter was just a bunch of companies spamming the heck out of their offers and that nobody actually read the offers. However, there are people that actually look for services offered on Twitter. The key is keeping with the targeted followers for your niche. I am now a firm believer of using Twitter and I do make good money advertising to my followers. Don't give up on it or listen to negative people with no good advise. It does work!
