Forum Posting for Traffic?

Hey,

I was just curious if anyone tracked the clicks that they get from their signature link on forums and if they actually get a good amount of traffic from posting on forums?

Thanks

I don't track my clicks from my signature, but I can tell you for a fact that I get lots of traffic from it.

    All the best,

    Martin

You can definitely get a lot of traffic from forums. I have been able to get a lot of leads participating in multiple forums and building relationships with members. Build a reputation of giving value and have a great signature.

Yes. My current sig WSO explains all this.

I on average, get between 40-60 clicks on any given weekday depending on my posting activity. Of course, the more quality your posts are, the more you will get clicks.

      Hi Des,

Do you get 40 clicks on an average having just 304 posts in total?

Im so curious and interested in your product in signature too.

      Thanks.

Correct. 40-60 would stem from high quality posts in relevant and targeted threads with activity. Remember it's not about quantity but quality (both would obviously be ideal though)

Yes, Web forum posting has been working for us, in terms of getting clients for our non-corporate clientele network (we directly contact and send business proposals to prospect corporate clients), and this has also been working for our corporate and non-corporate clientele network, particularly from the traffic generation campaigns we formulate and implement for them. Here are some helpful details, in my opinion:

=>> We get 100% of our clients to populate our non-corporate clientele network from contextually relevant, high authority Web forums heavily trafficked by people looking for the solutions we offer, to help solve their related needs and problems that they can't solve on their own; and

=>> 90% of our corporate and non-corporate clients get 30% of their monthly traffic on average, out of the free traffic generation methods we formulated and implement for them, from Web forum posting. How do we do this for them?

    • We develop unique onsite content offering benefits needed by their target markets;

    • We share these newly posted content posts/pages in relevant social networks;

    • We go to contextually relevant discussion pages classified under related sections/categories in high authority Web forums heavily trafficked by the target markets, then contribute useful info and advice yet to be mentioned in those discussion pages to establish the reputation of the Web forum poster as a friendly expert resource of beneficial content, products and services, and we link to those newly posted onsite pages/posts to offer members and lurkers with supplemental content that provides benefits not found in those discussion pages nor elsewhere; and

    • The things above funnel quality traffic from those online social networks and Web forums, as well as get those backlinks and linked onsite posts/pages quickly indexed by Google. Then, we:

=>> Submit those newly posted and indexed onsite posts/pages to high authority ezine networks and other content syndication channels, so webmasters comprising their publisher bases can pick it up and publish it on their sites and newsletters, with the links intact, and this again funnels quality traffic from their sites and mailing list subscriber bases to the linked onsite pages/posts, as well as build contextual, high quality backlinks for those onsite posts/pages in the process...

These are the traffic generation campaigns we formulated and implement for our corporate and non-corporate clients, and we integrated post Penguin natural backlink building methods into these campaigns to further improve the results of our clients...

Yes, I do track my clicks.

I go to google analytics to check how much traffic this forum is sending me everyday.

I started posting not long ago. I already started to see the results of being consistent here and helpful to others.

I hope that helps a little bit

      Nice thread!

I can also say from experience that a lot of past purchases I have made were in fact from a signature I found to be very compelling. In fact, I bought from one just yesterday.

I think it depends on min 2 factors - the quality if your posts and content of your signature. And of course post should have a lot of views as well.

Forum signature links can help if you are not spamming the forums. If you help people and your post are giving quality and helpful information, you will get clicks on your signature.
It also depends on the niche of the forum and the niche of the link, if they are similar you have more chances to get clicks.

Well based on the amount of spam we get here... some people obviously think it's a good enough form of traffic to risk looking like an ass and getting all their e-mail addresses and IP addresses blocked

You can track your sig clicks if the website you have in your signature possess visitor tracker (statcountet, google webmaster and the likes).

No doubt, you can get some amount of traffic to your site from the forums IF your post is meaningful, helpful & valuable. Otherwise your visitors will judge you by your contributions.

And for your traffic to convert you need to provide services that the people on the forum really needs.

If you are fortunate to make some money, I advice you quickly turn to other ways to build traffic to your site because building your business based on the forum or one single means is not the best. There could be a change and there goes your efforts and earnings.

I find this is a great way of getting new leads and traffic to my sites especially if you're passionate about a particular subject its very easy to spend a lot of time on forums answering people's questions and helping them as once you build a relationship with members on the forum they are more likely to click through your link and trust information that you're giving them at the other end

As the demographic you guys are marketing to, I can tell you that I click on, and purchase things from your links. If the posts seem intelligent, and the promises are not, "make a million dollars in your sleep", I will check them out.

This forum is a great preview for the writers too. Joe and Alexa are excellent writers in the forums, I imagine when they are working on content and have their game face on they are fantastic. They do a good job of quietly, or not so quietly (Joe), promoting their services.

Joe, 72 posts since late Friday? What happened to work/life balance? Or do you need a 12 step program??

Yes I can tell you 100% that you will get traffic from your forum signature. I have been a member here for a long time but never really bothered posting, recently I setup my profile and signature and have already seen clicks and leads coming through, by replying to posts I find interesting and adding value to the conversation.

Forum posting is one of the "free" (I use that term loosely) traffic generation methods that I recommend for anyone who is looking to generate a fresh stream of new prospects for his/her business.

The most important thing with regards to forum marketing is to make sure that you are contributing value to the forum, and not just saying "nice post".

If you focus on providing quality information & helping others, the traffic can definitely add up.

One important tip with forum marketing: A lot of people assume that all forums get a lot of traffic, which is simply not the case. If you are participating in a forum to get traffic, leads, & sales, make sure there is a large enough group of your target customers there.

I don't really track the traffic going to my site from here. In my opinion, if your signature link has a strong call to action, you might get a lot of traffic from here. It would also depend on how you're participating in the other threads. As mlord10 has mentioned, it would be cool if you're the type that doesn't just say "nice post" on most of the threads you've been in.

At first, I also don't believe in Forum Marketing. But, since I tried it, it really gives targeted traffic. Although the traffic is not a huge one, but sure the traffic is high quality...

    From sig, I usually get 50 clicks/day.

Yes it does. If your signature in a forum is a dofollow, then great for seo. Also you get decent traffic from members but it all depends on what info your signature is trying to tell them. If majority of them are interested, then you would get good traffic but not always targeted traffic.
