She is definitely gonna make a ton of sales now that she is being featured on the KDP website! I salute her!

I also noticed a little snippet on the page:

"KDP is already meaningful--22 of our top 100 best-selling Kindle books so far this year are KDP books--and more great stories are being published every day."

I wonder how many of those above mentioned booksare by WF members? Hmmmm....

    Better get to work!

This is a very BIG show of public support for Kindle indie authors (of which I'm one) by Jeff Bezos . After the recent algorithm changes there was some debate on the kindle writer forum as to whether Amazon was now favoring big 6 publishers over us.

This seems to indicate that Amazon still wants us, and is encouraging more authors to join in on the fun. Can't wait to finish my next fiction book and get it up!

Absolutely. This is Jeff and the KDP team showing the world that they are still fully devoted to indie authors. And that they are still hell bent on changing everything about publishing.

I think it's great they are supporting indie authors and showing the benefits of Kindle publishing. I'm sure she is a seeing a big spike in sales.

As a reader, I did download a sample of that book a few months ago, but wasn't compelled enough to purchase.

I hope Amazon doesn't become like some of the other big Corporations out their that forgets about us little guys... like ebay.

I started writing short stories at the end of 2011 for Kindle and have been doing fairly good with a recent spike lately. I hope to keep writing for years to come as long as I see a good return on my time and investment in creating them for my readers.

I've been really trying to create really good stories and giving more then most of my competitors as I feel quality will win in the end but it will bite if Amazon pushes us independents out in favor of the big publishing houses.

This is definitely what you call a "disruptive" technologies. But everyone please be smart: don't put all your eggs in one "amazonian" basket. Make sure to build a brand (so people look for you outside of kindle). Make sure to also build your own customer list.

You must understand the fundamental difference between selling your product on a site YOU control and selling it on AMAZON. You are getting customers for Amazon (who ends up paying you), in one case - building your own list of customers you can contact on your own terms - and charge whatever price you want - in another.

      Publish Smart.
