Hi guys,

I am looking for a good but not to pricey and easy to use software to build websites.

Any suggestions?

Simon,

If you get the software will you know how to use it?

I only ask because I have a ton of editors to build websites and have no clue how to use them lol

If you want to build a site yourself, try picking up something like Kompozer (its free) and then go to youtube to watch a couple of tutorials to get the hang of it.

If after using the tutorials you still just can't get it, try to have someone throw something together for you. Many times, you can find really good deals, especially in the WSO forum.

If you decide not to got that route either, maybe you can throw up a blog?

Are you planning to have your own domain name? I think most domain registrar/hosting providers give you a free site builder with their package when you get an account with them.

Unless you're thinking of using a free hosting service? Most will provide with a reasonable easy to use online site builder.

Try WordPress, I think it's easy enough and you can do a lot with it since WP has thousands of plugins to add with.

Wordpress for up to a 100 page site.

Joomla for a portal.

Those are the best, I have tried everything out there.

CoffeeCup and KompoZer are free. If you are willing to pay, DreamWeaver and XSite Pro are great choices.

WordPress is great for building websites. I personally use this many times and it is very easy to use yet powerful with the plugins you can find online.

  I vote for wordpress also. The other advantage of wordpress is that g00gle likes wordpress, you get indexed faster etc.
  
  Installation is not THAT difficult, and once you have done one, it is actually quite easy.

Here is a good free host without any ads. It has cpanel and all, and has a free website builder with it. Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel, No Ads

You can also earn money with it, by giving away the free hosting.

I'm a fan of Dreamweaver CS4, but it is a little pricey. Several of my friends swear by XSitePro 2 though for quickly creating and maintaining websites.
