Domain Seller with Best Privacy Protection Feature

If you don't want anyone and everyone to do a Whois search, what's the best domain seller with privacy protection?

I was informed Godaddy is not good at this, as even someone writing a letter to them will get them to release your personal info.

I think they have a upsell where you can pay to get that feature added in. I have never had a issue with privacy issues and I go through godaddy without the upsell.

Namecheap whoisguard won't give out your info. Without a court order of course. And surprised you say Godaddy will? However, if one sits on the internet to find something, you can always find something (Ie. checking zone files, cross referencing emails, etc). Total privacy on the internet only exists if you never got on the internet to begin with.

Personally, I really find no use for whois protection. Most people who check whois are only doing it for a few reasons:

      1) To see if they can trust you and you won't rip them off.
      2) Find out where to send "cease and desist" or DMCA notices.
      3) Determine the owners of a domain to send a purchase, JV offer, etc.

The more public your business is on the net, the better. If you're going to hide your name... what else are you trying to hide? That's how people think.

If all you're after is to seperate your personal life from your business life on the cheap -- just get you a dedicated mail drop for your business and a forwarding phone, magic jack or tracfone number if it means that much to you.
