Youtube Channel, Who Has One?

I can't stand the sound of my voice when I hear a recording of it, so I generally get my wife to do a talkover for me.

I don't know anyone who really likes hearing their own voice or who thinks it sounds like them. I don't like being on camera much, but I do have a YouTube channel and videos. There are all sorts of ways to make videos without getting in front of a camera.

  Psychologically this is actually a common turning point for anyone that records their own image/voice. As a matter of fact, most professionals DO like the sound of themselves, but perhaps only after some training or just plain old practice.

I also could not stand the sound of my own voice.

@OP I did get over my fear and uploaded a few videos. I then received compliments for my voice (in particular my Australian accent).

The first video is the hardest. Chances are it won't be very good (that is my experience). However the second one will be much better. The third much better than that etc.

Hi,

Yes I do and no I didn't.
There are only a couple of videos with my face on them though... But that's not something I fear. My English pronunciation is another matter, however, I lack some training in that area

I had been doing camtasia videos for years. I just recently started getting in front of the camera. I have no problem with my voice. My problem was I am already a big guy. I didnt need the camera to add an additional 10 pounds - lol

1-) So technically everyone who has a Youtube video now, also has a channel by default. So yes, I have produced over 500 videos and posted them on Youtube for various channels of mine and for clients.

2-) Sure. In fact it's normal to have some fear before creating your own video. Nobody likes to make a fool of themselves. Having no fear at all is likely more problematic since it lends itself to never improving on your productions.

Videos or screencasts, they are all the same now and a LOT of productions have combinations of both elements now.

I have a YouTube channel and the videos on there have gotten nearly half a million views in less than a year. Not one of the videos is of me in front of the camera; they're all screencasts or videos of me doing something with my hands while sitting at a table (with the camera right in front of my chest).

If you're afraid of being in front of the camera, create a PowerPoint presentation and just do a screencast of it. It might not be as engaging as you speaking into the camera, but it's better than nothing.

Start with screen capture if you dont want people to see you. Dont be afraid to talk.

IMO its really annoying when people try to use screen capture to explain a process and go back forth from Microsoft Word to type the process out.

I just started a new channel. It's based on the Dilbert concept. I'm no expert on characature but I had a go. I've been encountering examples of what I call "Dilbert Days" in the office and have been toying with the idea of parodying these in a weekly uTube video. I've called my channel Nickblurt. Only just started it so not sure that it's indexed yet.

I have about 6 different youtube channels in 6 different niches. Altogether I have about 100 video out there.

Instead of jumping in front of the camera try using camtasia or camStudio to record powerpoint presentations and talk over them..

You will churn out MANY more videos in a shorter period of time and they look more professional than a video of yourself recorder on a poor quality camera.

Many of my videos have 80k views or more and my URL is in each powerpoint slide.. When was the last time you got an article with 80k views ????

I am attempting to venture into this too. Not sure if I can face a camera and do a presentation, but I guess doing a voice over on a powerpoint presentation isn't that big a deal. Well....lets see...

I do and as for fear, absolutely. You always hate the sound of your voice, how you look sometimes, etc, etc, etc.

The first time I made a video I did like 20 retakes. But really when it comes down to it, we just all need to be at ease with ourselves and be secure about ourselves. I think that's what it comes down to.

Plus practice really does make perfect. After busting out a few videos you kind of just get into the flow and it comes way more naturally to you. You're more at ease, etc.

I remember the first video I made, my brother was like "uh..it's good but you don't sound like you. Just be yourself. Let your personality show"

But now it's much better. I'm sure you've gone through the same/will go through the same process. Way to start with video though

It's a great marketing avenue.

PS. if you go on fiverr.com you can find people to make a cool video animation intro for each of your videos. Pretty good for branding, if that's what you're after.

Doing a video screencast doesn't take as much time as preparing the script for me. Once I got that, then the rest was easier.

A well researched script will help with the confidence.

It lessens the fear of rejection when you have something to say.

I have one....over 100 Videos and over 250,000 views. I was shy at first too...very large percentage of my top tier sales are from Video Marketing.

I'm currently making my living via PPD, plus I promote products and courses from ClickBank. I have accounts on YouTube and I always talk over the review videos, I find it converts very well and gives the viewers what they need mainly a - "Relationship" with you.

For videos you don't have to be in front of the camera. You can record voice and display a presentation/animation. Or you could outsource the work and you can find video creators from very cheap (fiverr) up to the quality professionals, depending on what you are looking for.

There are other ways to make videos without being on them ... checkout user mrl65 on youtube These was made on windows movie maker in less than 10 minutes each.

I have a YouTube account but it doesn't feature myself, has high quality videos for the niche I'm targeting. If you have something of quality to offer then go ahead, as long as your pronunciation is ok you'll be fine!

That's what we always wonder, do they like my voice. I just accept that this is my voice and I'm stuck with it.
