Question about signature rules?

This might be a stupid question and sorry if it's in the wrong section.

Can you promote your website/product in your signature (with a link) without buying the subscription or an image in your Signature?

You can promote your website in your signature. If you want an image you have to be a war room member.

Yes. You can promote your own website/product in your signature (text link). It can't be an affiliate link. For $60/year, you can have a 234x60 image in your signature, and that can also link to your website/product.

Yes as long as it links to your own site.

Link for all it's worth! All links are good links when it comes to Google.

These are all correct, but there's a caveat with this one...
Link for all it's worth! All links are good links when it comes to Google.
Don't let yourself look like you're posting for link juice. We'll treat you like an SEO spammer, and turn off your signature, assuming we don't just ban you outright.

Also, don't use affiliate template sites, even if they are on a domain you own. Blogs, reviews, etc are okay with affiliate links on them, but not the merchant-provided templates. There's nothing wrong with those on their own, mind you. It's a smart approach by both the affiliates and the merchants. We don't allow them because they've been abused and overused as a way around the "no affiliate links" rule.

For those who don't know, that rule exists because too many people were posting tons of garbage in order to get exposure for their affiliate links. Not because we have any objections to affiliate programs, merchants, or affiliates.

No idea what you are talking about with the "subscription". If you are referring to the image in the sig then the answer is: no, you do not need to purchase the image to link to your site.

It's good that you ask first ... some people would simply post their affiliate links and find out later it's a no-no. A 'signature' should really say something professional about you ... I think anyone who just promotes affiliate link to 'wso of the day' may appear amateur in the long run ...

You can promote a text link in your signature if you haven't paid for the $60 banner image in your signature. Pay $60, and you can have your own banner.

Yes, you can promote your business in your signature. I believe the minimum post to add signature is 15.

My Sig has just been deleted.
I had my own website as Sig, I thought be aligned with the rules.
Does it mean I have to submit at least 15 post to have my Sig displayed?
      Thanks.

No; it's not connected with your post-count.

If it was really your own website, on a domain which you yourself own (or your own page on Blogger, Wordpress.com or an equivalent), then possibly it was removed because the moderators felt that you were posting in order to draw attention to it? As explained above, that's another reason for sig-file deletions.

You appreciate that "your own website" which is a replicated/affiliate one is a different matter? The replicated squeeze pages that Chris Farrell gives to his affiliates aren't accepted. Empower Network blogs aren't accepted, etc.

          Dear Smith, Thanks,

I built my one-page website using Kompozer, then I created a sub-domain in my Cpanel to host it and use it here as Sig.

Anybody can verify if the said one-page website is my own website or not at Whois (NB: my main domain is "club5152(do)com").

The owner at Whois is "anouja" which is my name, and this name can be found at the bottom of my said page, just under my picture.

I just tried to honestly participate in one of discussions here as I am doing at other websites/forums, and when I added my Sig it was a spontaneous action. I am used to always update my profile everywhere I am a member.

Anything to do with affiliate links in the signature is not allowed. There is no way that you can get around it. What you can do is to create your own opt in page if you have a newsletter that you want to grow.

You can also create a review page of a product and post it here.

Interesting question, as I had the same question myself. Thanks for the response Paul, as I will also go check out all the stickies and re-read the rules.

If you are promoting your website or product in your signature make sure you don't post for the sake of promotion only. "Thanks for sharing" or "useful post" are considered spam. When you post make sure you provide value in the thread that you're posting in.

Don't use affiliate links for this purpose, because it's against Warrior forum rules and if you do it you're risking your account to be blocked.

      This thread is from 2012.

Some of the information in it isn't still correct, and some of it was even incorrect in the first place.

Signature-file banners can be up to 234 pixels wide by 60 pixels high, and cost $60 per year: http://www.warriorforum.com/payments.php?r=textads
