Lets do this warriors! Help me with this, I am willing to do the work!

Hey Warriors,

As you may know I am trying to save up for car, well I am now putting in action in order to actually save up for the car! I have now $120 bucks in cash and I have $14 dollars to spend for myself right now. My plan for my day job is to limit myself to $20 bucks per check and the rest goes to my wallet to build up 2-3 grand. I can buy just one site and use SEO for traffic. Therefore I need your advice on how I can money from this one site that I am willing to buy. I am serious this time warriors I will literally do the work. I know I wont get rick quick, I know there is no one click software. But as long as I get some money out of it I am okay with it. I am not kidding when I mean it now!

You are me 1 year ago... I was 18 years old and broke and needed a car also...

Let me tell you straight up that you aren't going to get very far trying to squeeze money out of SEO traffic (let alone get SEO traffic) on a $14 budget. I don't really know what your skillset is so I can't really suggest anything off of the top of my head which will benefit you in what you are trying to do here.

What are your interests? Any games you play?

Games and Computers. Well its not nesscary a budget if I must say. I was willing to use SEO for a traffic source to the website and I already have hosting. So I would somehow monetize the site. I know I wont get rich quick though thats for sure and that is absolutely fine with me! I actually have a website for the gaming niche though already ( extremegamings.com - non affiliate link ).

When I was in the air force there was this one kid who didn't know what was going on.

This is what someone said to him once:

"When you look into someone's eyes you can see their soul, but when I look into your eyes I see rainbow making machines and chocolate fountains."

Personally, I think you need to completely change the way you think. I've gave you links to read before and I'm not wasting my time doing them again if you're not going to read them.

I was a bit like you a year ago, until I started reading the same links and changed the way I looked at making money online. I've had a few pointers in the right direction but I'm doing quite well now after just a month.

I hope you can do the same soon.

BTW, that quote was just a joke. I didn't mean any offense by it.

Gaming is such a vast market.

Can you not niche down as much as possible. Try and get as laser targeted as you can.

Find a niche you are interested in. Write about it. Do some SEO to get traffic to your site. And then monetize it.

My niche has always been sites that are both free to join and offer free ways to make money online. And I've been making good money with this for over 6 years.

Care to go into detail about the kind of games you play or the type of computer stuff you are into? I've owned a few membership sites that make decent money in the niche and I'm looking to set up another one. If you are interested in getting something going hit me up, I've got capital to put up if you can't as long as you can grind out with me like a beast

There was a time in my life when I got hooked on wanting to buy a car. Either way Its good to want things because its motivation to make money.

Come up with a daily marketing plan. If you don't have all the money to come up with advertising revenue, create free marketing tactics that will help you to get the traffic and conversions that you are looking for.

  • Here is what you do:

Create a WSO with a profitable offer that affiliates will be falling over themselves to promote.
Send all of your traffic to a squeeze page
Have one time offer or two in place
*Spend all day long recruiting JV partners *

    Save your money!

Might not hurt to get a mentor.

Promote high end products to your list that pay you well - You will get much further earning $200 a shot than $20 bucks a shot.

I know what I am going to do, I am going to build a niche website. I never really built a niche website before. The websites I built were based off of products. I am going to research a niche and build a site for it. I am going to use SEO for a traffic source and monetize it someway. I gonna do something that I am interseted in so its either gonna deal with computers or games. Now I am going to look back at the forums I have started to find out what other people have said.

-The list below is things that I have said in the past threads that I haven't done. Therefore I went back and complied a list that I will be doing with this niche website with my left over money. Please take a look!

I am going to add a little twist to it, I am actually going to make my own personal blog and use some of those principles in the attachment below.

I have bought my own personal domain Techg33k.org

You've posted dozens of threads about what you are "going to do". You have started niche websites whether you realize it or not - you've just never finished one yet.

TVs is a niche - you had a review site...with NO reviews Gaming is a niche and has subniches - you installed a blog theme but added NO content. You kept asking what people thought of your sites - but ignored advice to complete the sites.

If you want to build a niche website...BUILD IT. You need to break your pattern. You post a plan and several questions about that plan - then you post about your research results - then you post about having second thoughts....and you are off to something else. Break the cycle. Choose a niche, do the research and COMPLETE THE SITE.

I know you will say "this time I'm going to do it" - but you've said that quite a few times, too. Do it or don't - it's your choice. Whether you make money or not entirely depends on YOU.

      • Kindly Aunt Kay is giving you excellent advice.

Here's Aunt fLufF's take on it:

Maybe you should concentrate on smaller bits of money-making activities. You seem to have a lot of energy and enthusiasm but little stamina. I think you need a quicker payout. Microjobs are perfect for people like this. And if you're really in Dallas, there are probably opportunities for you.

For folks with iPhones, both Gigwalk and EasyShift offer microjobs with cash payouts. (EasyShift often pays you the same day.) Pay for a single task often isn't a lot but if you can do three or four each day it really adds up.

Fiverr, which I'm sure you've heard of, is less satisfying because startup and payouts take longer. Here, free of charge, is an idea for a gig I've never seen on Fiverr:

I need to be in Dallas (I actually do) towards the end of July. I haven't been there in years. I have no idea where to stay but I need to book lodging soon. The lodging needs to be not necessarily nearby but have easy access/transport/public transit to American Airlines Center. There's an event there a *lot* of people will be attending. The hotel/motel should serve complimentary breakfast and because I'm taking my husband, it's imperative they have Belgian waffles.

This is the kind of small task only a Dallas resident could handle. This would be a great Fiverr gig for people who live in or near any major city.

What ever happened to getting a job in the real world while trying to make it online? So many people come here asking how to do the near impossible when they might be able to make 10, 12 bucks per hour or more working. Why not do that and then pick something you want to do online? And then work at it.

You're a War Room member. There are hundreds of legit business models in there but you come to the main forum looking for tips from the general population of the forum. Please, tell me what I'm missing.

    • OK, so I see you have a site up again- with no content.

What is the site going to be about???

Why haven't you written anything yet??

You had the big drama llama "Let's Do This" party and invited everyone in... everyone showed up with gifts in their hands... and so far you're leaving your guests standing on the porch in the rain and not even answering the door when the keep ringing the bell.

      Does shame motivate you??

      Everyone is watching you now.

So you have to either step up and produce something... show a tiny bit of effort, or look like a chump and a failure and be relegated to the recycle bin.

I say this with genuine affection and empathy.

It's time to pee or get off the pot.

      Last chance.

Do whatever it take- get happy, or get angry- but do something today. Write some content. I gave you some ideas earlier- if you don't like them or want to go in a different direction- lemme know and I'll help you find something.

I'm going to go work out in a little bit - so that gives you about 2 hours to get something done on your own.
I'll check back to see what progress you've made.

edit to add: I just wrote approx 500 words on the WPS security flaw in routers.
I'd be willing to give you the article free if you get some other content on your site- today.

    Zack,

You should have a look around lots of big successful blogs. They all usually use short sentences in their articles.

So now you're changing the entire premise, after you said you wanted to make money?

Put me down for a double serving of DGAF, and secondly, please stop telling people you're from Texas.

        LOL! Especially Dallas! :p

Not really - great to hear from a neighbor! But you have the same affliction I have - It's easy to get something started, but when it gets to the nitty-gritty detail work, it's impossible to force myself to stay focused. That may be the hardest thing you ever accomplish - starting and completing a strategy.

It's hard for me to give advice on this, as I haven't mastered it myself. But make yourself as accountable as you can - a thread like this is one way. Determine for yourself that you will not let your buddies at the WF down! Make that the foremost thing on your mind. Psych yourself! Get emotionally invested - convince yourself that you can't live without completing one strategy from start to finish by [insert upcoming date here].

Sometimes I have to do everything in my power to 'trick' my mind into thinking in productive ways...

        Hope that Helps,

At the same time Zach was posting in this thread about giving up - he was posting this in a another thread he had started:

Okay Guys I am going to go through the 26 free video course that you linked by chris farell all weekend since I have the whole weekend off
...or playing video games. That's fine - maybe he'll learn more "stuff" or have some fun.

Helping the OP is like trying to direct a stone falling down a mountain - so I'm joining the ranks of those who have given up.

Of course, in Texas I'd just say "all hat - no cattle"

flatbro, been a sitting on the side of this one and remember some of your very early posts, but reading here, it is really easy to see that you have had very little love, direction or guidance growing up.

Sad in a way, I hope you find a mentor or somebody who will guide you through a few of life's lessons.

Probably best you leave the video games to the kids, put the internet stuff on hold and go and join the military or similar, and put some man into those boys boots.

          Good luck moving forward.

I know what your saying, but to me it is best for me to choose my own decisions and experience life lessons because if I have to really on a mentor then I will not experience life lessons on my own? This is not including internet marketing, this is me saying I should figure out life lessons on own and grow from them from the decisions that I make.

But - he is a boy still in high school. He is immature for his age, admits to being lazy and easily distracted but those traits may change with maturity. Analyzing a family you don't know is risky - in this case I think it's also wrong.

Can I ask, then, why you want to write a blog about games? If you're getting tired of them then you probably won't have the interest in writing anything and if you don't play them regularly you won't have any insights or tricks to share with anyone.

I'll tell you a little story I heard. I can't remember where I heard it but it doesn't matter.

There was some guy from India and he was good with Microsoft Excel (or whatever the spreadsheet is).

He didn't start a blog showing everyone how to use every Microsoft program. Just 1. Excel.

He started a blog showing people how to use this. He used the USP that if you are great at using Excel, if you know all the little tricks, then your boss will think you do great work. You will be better at your job. More promotions. More money.

He then brought out a premium product. Something people could have in front of them. People paid him good money.

I think he was making $20,000 per month, or something stupid like that.

All because he niched down and solved a problem people had.

Don't have a blog about using computers and expect to play with the big boys.

Niche down in something you know a lot about and can help people.

You have qualifications and I know you can do it. You just can't see the forest for the trees.

I also recall a story from my youth.

There was once a boy that didn't get enough attention.

He herded sheep in the suburbs of Plano, TX.

He was so lonely, that he went on the internet and posted stories about a big, scary wolf that was about to attack his sheep.

After he posted, someone retweeted his story and it went viral.

Villagers rushed in from far and wide to give the boy assistance and advice.

But he boy was more interested in the attention, than in the advice.

To get more attention, the boy began to repost his story over and over again.

And again the naive ( but neighborly) villagers rushed to his aid, offering him advice and even offering to build a fence for him. Again the boy secretly laughed at the villagers and thought himself to be the cleverest boy in all the area.

Then, one dark night, a herd of werewolves attacked and decimated the boy's flock of sheep.
He posted and posted, and tweeted and retweeted...but no one came.

Financially ruined due to the loss of his reputation and all his tangible assets, the boy was eventually scorned and forced to leave the village.

When last seen he was on Fiverr, trying to hustle Scrapebox blasts and fake youtube view gigs.

        THE END

I thought you wanted to buy a car? Where I come from you can't buy much of a car for free but maybe in Texas it's different.

You're doing it again. The same thing you've been doing. You're now going to take a break?

Maybe the rest of us need to too. And when you get serious about this, no for real this time, no for real this time, no for real this time, no for real this time, put up a site and do what's been advised by tons of people who are trying to be friendly and helpful THEN come back and ask more questions.

Till then, my friend, I'm afraid ALL of this is a waste of good time and hard drive space on this forum's server.

I don't get it. You're here asking for advice about how to make money, and then, halfway through the thread, you're announcing that the blog you're working on will just be a free resource that you won't monetize in any way.

You don't need to ask for advice on the Warrior Forum if you're just putting up a personal blog that you don't intend to monetize. This forum is about making money. Right?

You're young right now. If you would just pick something and actually do it, and keep doing it as time goes on, you could do really well for yourself. Get out of your own head and get to work.

You know how to cure the frustration?

First step: Make a decision and a plan and do NOT deviate from it for any reason whatsoever. Don't mention other opportunities, business models, something you read somewhere, a hankering you've been having, other domains, other methods, other anything.

Once you do that the frustration will start to go away and you can start seeing some success. Until then the frustration will continue to increase and you'll keep going in circles.

As far as your free computer help while I think you may have a lot to offer, at the rate you're posting the free advice it'll take 3 years to figure out why my computer is running slow. By then I will have bought a new one. Stick not only with something you know but something you can and will do is my point.

    Your call.

I am just gonna be straight honest with you guys, Yes I want to make money online. I know I said I didn't want to monetize my blog after thinking about I really should if I wanted to turn it into a business. I am gonna be honest guys I am one of those guys who start projects and never get them done. Ill start it, but never finish for some reason that I make up. I am terribly sorry for you guys wasting your time on me I really am. I know I lost you guys as an audience and I completely understand you are who you are I am not gonna change you. I know I say sorry a lot its because I say sorry to the littlest things ( ask my friends, my boss, my co-workers they will tell you I do ). I basically talk to talk and it is easy to talk to talk, but for me as a person it is hard to walk to walk when it is really easy to talk to talk. I've probably wasted a whole year here and if I did I want to say sorry and I hope your guy's business goes well. You guys are probably right maybe this isn't for me, but the only thing I am lacking is ACTION and FOCUS on one thing.

-Sbu I am really not looking for a girl right now though because I am not one of those guys who wants the attention, I am the silent type of guy who sits in the corner and minds his own business.

-Kay King: I really did go through the video series but only up to video 6 for follow up messages, I have to say I am impressed with aweber.

    Overall Warriors,

If I lost your trust or friendship or whatever the matter maybe I am sorry and If you guys don't give me anymore advice that is fine. I accept that as I know it is my own fault for my actions to what I have done. For me as a person I always think so negative about things and I never see the bright side. I always come up with something to do whatever it is that I was going to do. An this is the full truth.

The only thing I have made money from is google adsense, but only .68 cents that is all.

Didn't mean to sound harsh. You are young. This might not be for you in the long run. The fact that you've called yourself lazy and said that you never finish projects means that you are going to have to change that if you're really serious about an online business because laziness and the inability to finish projects doesn't equal success.

As for not chasing girls ... you should give that a try too. You might be pleasantly (or unpleasantly) surprised.

    Flat,

It's good that you've identified what your problem is.

am gonna be honest guys I am one of those guys who start projects and never get them done.
Now that you know what the problem is, address is. Just because you've never finished a project in your life doesn't mean you never will.

You just need to discipline yourself.

And most importantly, eliminate all distractions. You know where my PS3 is? In the closet. You need to remain focused. Even if it means staying home and grinding out content while your friends are out having fun.

You don't need a break - you need to take action. Even if you fail, you will learn and will eventually succeed - as long as you keep trying.

Honestly, I wouldn't start a tech or gaming blog just yet. Unless you have $$ for paid advertising and tons of content. There's just too much competition. Unless you find a micro niche within your original one.

Say, instead of a gaming blog, you'll start a blog about one specific game. Like Skyrim, Star Wars, or whatever floats your boat. Build a tight nit community around THAT specific game. It'll be much easier than talking (let alone ranking) for games in general. And yes, you will get traffic.

Find long tail keywords in the specific micro-niche of your choice, and focus on those. Like, "How to make money in Skyrim," "How to get a better K/D Ratio in COD," ect. You're a gamer, you know what people might be searching for. Offer Free tips to build your email list, and then up-sell them on better products you come out with.

I know people are willing to pay money for game guides and what not. But it will be much easier for you to focus on a blog about ONE game, than to generate organic search engine rankings for a general gaming blog.

Heck, you could even upload your own gameplay tutorials to Youtube and use it to generate traffic to your blog. How about that? You get to play video games and make money.

And trust me, there's TONS of stuff to write about one game. Specially if it's an MMO with tons of people competing against each other. If they're willing to shell out money to play against other people, they're more than willing to pay more money to get an edge.

    Just my .02

You need to know what motivates you.

I'm 21, so not that much older than you. I'm motivated by knowledge. I cannot bear not understanding something. I got my degree because my dog was sick and no one understood why, I can build computers because my computer broke and the repair guy didn't know why, and I finish tasks because I need to know things.

My nephew is motivated by food. He loves food. For chocolate buttons, especially, he'll do anything. Tidy up, do his homework, anything. His dad is much the same - he works a job he hates, but rewards himself with food he loves.

My FIL in money motivated, so watching his bank balance go up pleases him. He'll do anything if we can convince him it'll save him a few pennies, or earn him some more.

Find out what it is that drives you, and use it. I've worked full-time as a freelance journalist for years and years, because early on I needed to know things. I research things for hours until I have a unique perspective and a full understanding, and my clients love me for it. Now I can command rates that make that research time well-paid, and I get paid for finding out more. I'm also taking my second degree - self-funded.

Once you know what motivates you, you'll be able to finish projects, and start making money. For now, set a target for that car, and stick pictures of it everywhere. On the fridge, on your Xbox, on your computer. Hopefully, seeing it will motivate you into working towards it.

It won't just come to you one day. Work for it, and you'll get there, and much further.

    FlatBro94,

Focus that is all you have to do. Now you're talking about traveling. Dreaming is o.k. but you have to get your mind out of the clouds, if you're going to make any money on the internet or anywhere else.

If you can't focus then Internet Marketing is not for you. As others have said get a little age under your belt, learn some discipline and them come back and try it again.
