  • One good way to build a list in the IM niche quickly is to send PPV traffic to an opt-in page (to capture the email address) and then on to CPA offer (which could be a freebie bribe).

You will get paid to send out your freebie bribe if you do it right, so this will be an inexpensive way to build your list.

You could build it even faster if you are willing to pay for your traffic (PPV traffic is inexpensive anyway) and send it to a free offer (which could be a PLR report in the IM niche. There is free PLR all over the internet,

    • Thanks for the idea of PPV i might try that as soon as i get everything set up i am gooing to buy traffic anyway thats why i want a quality Freebie product a CPA offer isn`t what i had in mind

      thanks
    • Following on from Roy's point of PPV if you choose this route to generate traffic, then this thread should help you to decide where to advertise!

  • Did you ever think about developing your own free product? It's not hard.

You can write a small four page report. You could interview someone and give away the audio file or a video.

    • Indeed an interview with a fellow warrior is a great idea and one which Gavin Stephenson highly recommends to get going in this space.

Frankly, I'd recommend not using the IM niche as your "first time" for listbuilding. Every "IMer" and their mother already try that.

    • A lot of people BELIEVE that the IM niche is very easy.
Well, the traffic is explosive, and everything goes
fireworks when you get traffic, right?

      Not really.

You need to know how to convert, and stand out.
That's the big difference between this niche and others.
This niche has a vicious cycle eating itself from inside
      out. Marketers teaching future marketers...

And the weird thing is a lot of things being taught are
really just "half the picture", and then this gets
distorted further down the rabbit hole.

If you can program, or have a brilliant idea that can
genuinely help others, go for it.

If you're going for some crap misinformation product
that is going to get you shovels of hate mail and
refunds... then cool your head and get off the path.

I mean, there are so many other niches out there.

I personally dabbled in easily over 30 niches myself.
Some were absolute gems as niches. Some you would
never have thought were profitable. And hell, they're
FAR easier to market to, especially when you do your
      market research right.

    • And there is a solid reason behind that

      OP:

You can get your promo content from ezine articles,
Quality forum posts and add little extra to them.
      Re-write Products you already own.
Use blog as reference to write your own freebi,

However, the best method I have found to work like
Gangbusters is, converting your words into Video!
Use your own voice ,style be real and watch what happens.

Very important to have your own products with your own style
Not some random crap plr, you need quality.
  • I have to agree with those saying you need your own product (whatever niche you choose). Your giveaway is the first impression your potential customers receive. If you send them a poor product or one they've seen before they won't be enticed to buy a product from you.

  • Jim,
I think if you're going to use PLR you should at least rewrite it and add a few extras to make it your own. Perhaps interviews as mentioned above. Or make it into a video.

Think of it this way: how would you feel if you were the customer and you received a report that was identical to one you already received from another website? Wouldn't you be afraid to buy their product? If they won't take the time to come up with an original short report then why would they take the time to write a unique product?

    • You are 100% correct Rose it wouldnt taske too much time to rewrite the PLR up add even more stuff i got ya !

What do you thin of the product itself Rose the images, the subject of the give aways ect do you think i could work with this product ?
  • Couldn't agree more with everyone else. You need your own bribe.

In the old direct mail days (ok ...they still do it today), they would send out a 'magalog'. It was a magazine, written by a pro copywriter, where every single article sold the product. Some articles were about the inventor's credibility, some were about the science behind the product. Regardless, every single article was interesting, exciting and moved the reader towards the sale. That's what your bribe has to do.

Whether you decide to shoot a quick video in front of your computer (great for building trust) or write a quick report, you have to make a sale every chance you get. You don't have to sell a product though. You could 'sell' your blog, or your credibility, or your coaching program. It's all about building that relationship so they'll spend more time (and eventually $) with you.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I think creating your own product is a great strategy, but I don't think you need it when starting out...what you need is a quality product, whether that is something you wrote, or someone else wrote.

The best thing to do if you want to get up & running quickly would be to get access to a PLR/MMR report that you could rebrand & pass off as your own...here is a website that has some reports like this for very cheap:

    • thanks for that this is actually what i originally posted for .. any ideas for the best up sell to try and get some of my money that i spend on solo ads back with ?
  • Jim,
The graphics all look good. I can't comment on the products, though, since I haven't read them.

    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I'd go one of two directions with your up-sell/OTO...

    1. Offer another report/software/tool whatever that compliments the free report & maybe provides a "shortcut" or helps them execute the directions/ideas you have given them in the free report faster.

    2. Offer them a monthly membership program (you can pick an affiliate program, doesn't have to be your own). If you make just 1-2 sales that are going to pay you a monthly recurring commission...you will have done well.

I don't want to "self-promote" in this thread...but if you want more info on what I'm doing feel free to shoot me a pm.

    • My advice?

      Don't buy traffic.

Don't buy traffic until you know what your conversion will be.
If your sales bring in less than you spend on traffic, that can spell trouble *very* quickly.

Since you are after product advice, you obviously can't know conversion.

Go for free traffic generation until you have a better idea.

      That's my tuppence worth!

    • Hi PMed you Mlord !
  • I have to agree with Gordon about traffic - buying traffic in the form of PPC, solo ads, ezine ads is pretty much a trip to Vegas. You might come out ahead...or not.
And also with Rose - have never found a PLR source where the writing had enough meat - you always have to re-write to make it more personal, inject some personality and also to add in facts/quotes/insights and other worthwhile content. PLR just provides the skeleton - you always have to put some meat on it.

    • Emm sorry i dont agree with you its a learning process but right now i`m thinking its a safer bet than MrG
  • Actually buying traffic is not too bad if you are offering free products to build your list. Solo ads are especailly useful in this regard as people will be more targeted and will have a high conversion rate if you solo ad is good. For the freebies source, you can just look around the web and many sites will offer them if you enter into their lists. You can then use these to build your own list. Good luck with it.

    • You know i appreciate peoples thoughts and their only trying to help but i posted about where to get content from not what i should or shouldnt be doing , what niche i should or shouldn`t go after and how i shouldnt buy traffic. things are tough enough without folks putting negative thoughts into my head i dont mean i sound sharp but i like people putting doubt into my head at all
  • alright - flame away. I'm new to the forum and have been reading and searching for about an hour. I've read a lot about building a "list". Can someone explain to me what this "list" is used for. Is this an opt-in list so that you can market to these people? Is the only think you're trying to get from them is name, phone number and email? If what I assume is correct, once you have this list, how successful are you at converting this list into sales? Thanks.
    • [1] reply
    • You got it...when people talk about list building, they are most commonly talking about building an opt-in email list of targeted prospects that they can build a relationship with & sell products.

I don't think a phone # is necessary (and some would argue a name isn't...my opt-in rates are higher by just asking for an email address).

As far as how successful you will be converting the list into sales...no one can tell you that. It all depends on your ability to write copy that your subscribers enjoy, & provide them with quality products.

If you can entertain & educate them at the same time...well that can really give you a responsive list.

  • Create the freebies and bribes yourself. Create a 20-page report that is very good, and offer it on your website in return for your prospect's name and email address.
