overwhelmed by info. need help getting started

Hi guys. Not sure this is the right section for this or not...im new here Anyway my name is Mike and im working full time right now, but will be starting college in a few months time. I have been reading several ebooks on the subject of IM and it seems really appealing to me, but cant work at it full time. I really need something where I can put around 2 hours of work per night (and more hours at the weekend) and get some small result (I realise 2 hours per night is not enough time or effort to get big bucks, but I dont want big bucks, pocket money will do me ) I managed to save £200 to get me going but I really dont know where to start, really just need some good advice about getting started. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lee welcome to the Warrior Forum, it's good that your here / you can learn alot on this forum.

A Few suggestion, without know you skills, time constraints, and knowledge it can be hard, but here a are a few ideas:

    • If you have a hobby or interest, maybe golf, video editing, style, sports, card playing, etc. You might want to start a simple blog - creating a blog using wordpress could be very simple. The important thing is to start now and start marketing your blog, so that in months to come you will have a steady stream of traffic.
    • You can also go to the WSO Section on this forum - they have a large selection of strategies and courses to help make money online. Some better than others, so make sure you read through the threads at people replies.
    • You could start a vblog on Youtube, it can be fun to start and as you get more follows and views you can incorporate motorization options.
The one thing that you should now is that no matter what you choose in most cases it can take a while before you start making any money. So don't be looking for quick returns.

LOL dont worry, I don't buy into these get rich quick things. I wasn't born yesterday .TBH I dont really mind if I don't earn that much money straight away, or even if I totally fail, not to big of a deal for me really. The main weakness im going to have in all this is definatly my writing skills....they are kinda bad so article writing would be a nightmare for me. Been looking through some WSO's will defo buy a proven one, try to stick to a plan I guess.

Do NOT buy any WSO guides. Most of these only make their creators rich. There are plenty of free blogs and guides to learn the tricks.

You have some money. Use it to start an online business or provide services such as SEO or creating niche websites. You can also create logos, write articles, etc. based on your skills. You can also try Fiverr.com

You can start a webhosting/domain reseller business.

Blogging/niche websites work, but it takes time to see profits.

Go through the WSO section. Is there something that you can duplicate? Aping is the best way to learn.

    All the best.

Oh really? Surprised Warrior Forum does not mind you saying that! Thanks for the tip though. Can you point me in the direction of the free guides/blogs that you would recommend?

WOW I don't think WSO Creators are all rich, but I am sure that there are some quality WSO guides out there. It's very bold of you to make a claim like this.

In checking my recent downloads, I found a list building guide from this site Internet Expert, which I believe is run by one of the members here. There is more list building info at the site.

Free Bonus- when you visit the site and sign up for the free book- you see how people build a list.

  • Starting over with just $100.
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ver-100-a.html

What to do if you're desperate:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...desperate.html

What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing?

    Find a niche

    (buy content to promote)

    get traffic

    profit!!

For $100, you can buy an already recognized domain name, add some content and buy some backlinking service to pump it up a little bit and then sell it for a profit, or monetize the site and profit that way.

There are also some outstanding writers on here that offer articles at very affordable prices.

You could also buy some proxies for $ 20 or $30 a month, buy or set up some social media accounts and offer site reviews / comments for a reasonable fee.

or what about setting up a site for the uni students to blog, and perhaps include a social calendar, and giveaways for free pizzas or something? Just a thought.

The primary answer to your questions are all internal. You have to pinpoint your talents and skill and visualize how to monitize it. Performing services for others here in the forum, creating a product, promoting other people's products or services are all possible for earning cash.

You can also offer services to offline businesses. No matter which direction you decide to go, make sure you do train. Next only tackle one task at a time so you don't lose focus.

Don't be put off wso's as there are a few awesome ones, just make sure you read reviews from buyers and ignore the ones from people who got a review copy for free! They are usually jv's so their review will be worthless, check my Sig for more buying tips before buying a wso!

Hi Lee. Nice user name lol. You can obviously use PPC to get instant traffic, but once the funds run out, so does the money. If you can make a profit with PPC, role with it - because you get the customer name and can sell to them over and over again.

I would suggest that you start off learning how to do free marketing heavily. You can always return to running ads and getting instant traffic. Free marketing will give you a good idea of what you need to be doing to get sales for your business. Plus it will diminish the costs of your paid advertising.

Consider forum marketing, article marketing, seo, blogging, and definitely video marketing.

Yes it is easy to get overwhelmed with too much information. There are some great resources to help you to get started. Look for some resources related to IM for Newbies. This forum has some great help in that regard. Just don't get into information overload or you'll spend all your time learning and no time doing. When you find a technique you think you like, try it and stick with it for a while. And ask questions of the people here. Overall you'll find WF members to be very helpful and supportive.

    Good luck with it!

If you are not wanting to spend money. Start fooling around with youtube. Dont get caught up in buying new shiny wso's too often.

Lot's of good advice here. Best advice I can give you is to get focused on one thing and then focus, focus, focus! It's so easy to get dragged from 'shiny object' to 'shiny object' which I'm sure most of us have done at one point or another! So shop around until you find that one thing that you believe will work for you and then go after it relentlessly!

    Good luck!

      Hi Lee!

Welcome! Unfortunately, being overloaded with information may not change over time. Even the most skilled IM'ers can suffer from info overload keeping up with the latest, greatest, newest, etc.

The best advice I can give you is:

Pick a niche (find out where people are having problems, what kinds of questions they are asking, and where they are spending money of course).

      THEN

Pick a form of IM (affiliate, PPC, article marketing, blogging, social media, JV's, etc) and study it and apply it until you become an expert. Focus only on that form and move onto the next 'shiny object' only when you have mastered that one thing. Sometimes you will do several like blogging about affiliate products, or writing articles to get traffic to your blog...hope that makes sense.

Remember to take action. You can study to become an expert all you want but if you don't take action you won't learn what works for YOU.

Good luck and BTW, there are plenty of great WSO's out there that are not very expensive at all and can teach you a lot!

      Liz
