How is my Squeeze Page?

by aheil

Alright, I created my first squeeze page and I want to know what I can do to improve it before I start sending traffic that way.

And who better to ask than the Warrior Forum, right?

If it sucks, tell me, but also tell me what I can do to make it better.

Here is the link - myworkoutreviews.org/newsletter

Thanks!

      Hi Alex,

1.First what I recommend is to place your optin form before fold.

2.Also, I agree with other warriors here add sexy images, put some spaces between your tabs:

      Great Workout Program &

Choosing A Fitness Program For You

What I would do I would put a drop-down menu

      3. Your headline, I think: and Get In Shape Quickly And Healthily - too boring
      Think of something like :

37 pounds! Mexican man "breaks" into record books
**WHO ELSE WANTS A SCREEN STAR FIGURE?
**WHY SOME FOODS "EXPLODE" IN YOUR STOMACH AND MAKE YOU FAT
**WHO EVER HEARD OF A WOMAN LOSING WEIGHT -- AND ENJOYING 3 DELICIOUS MEALS AT THE SAME TIME?

      Hope it helps

Hey, It looks good. Just a few things -

    1. Is there a reason why you haven't included a 'Name' section in the aweber form? Might be a good idea to include one as you can personalise your emails when you send them out (and your newsletter as well).

    2. Change some of the text to bold maybe? Helps make an impact in your statement. I like the Comic sans font. Or use the Times font.

    3. Few more bullet points about what you are selling

    4. Maybe a photo...not absolutely essential though, but looks good.

Are you using any squeeze page templates? You can find these online. Matt Greener does a few as well. Alternatively, you can also get someone on fiverr to create it for you and send you the code. Some guys do a good job on there. You can check out one that I got done at www.sexy-ab-plan.com.

    Hope this helps

Thanks you those are some great tips that I'll definitely have to use.

And thanks for the tip on fiverr I'll have to check that out too. Im not using any templates, I just created that in a page on Wordpress.

Do people like typing their name in the Name box? I only removed it because I thought it was an extra step, but I guess if they really want to sign up they won't mind, so I'll add that too.

      Thanks!

        - before and after pics work well for these pages
        - a little more clarity on what they get when they sign up (i.e. weekly email with tips, routines, etc)
        - pic of you in the about Alex section
        - changes in font and size.. so it doesnt look like a word doc

go to other workout squeeze pages and copy what you think looks good.

It may be an extra step, and it might cost you a few sign ups, but in the long run your list will convert better if you can address the people on your list by their name.

Also, have you tried moving the subscription box to the right of the text instead of below it?

I believe it will improve your conversion rate.

It is pretty boring and kind of vague about exactly what I would get. Have you considered putting your most beneficial tips into a free ebook and offering that. I will opt-in to get a free ebook long before a sub. to a newsletter.

Yeah I think it may be a better idea to move it over to the side. I feel like it might be a lot more visible.

I'm definitely going to revamp this page when I get home. Thanks for the tips so far everyone!

So far I haven't found anyone not willing to give out their name when they sign up, though I don't know if it is their real name in the first place. Nevertheless, personalising your email makes it look better. Personal choice though, I guess.

You shouldn't have anything on the page accept the offer at hand. There are too many options for the visitor who lands on your page. You will get conversions, but will not be as high as you CAN get them. You also should have a picture/video to build some sort of emotional response. Your headline needs to stand out, it needs to grab the visitors attention immediately. Your headline doesn't make me want to do anything. Make your headline short and punchy. You can then elaborate with a sub head.

Bullet points that list the BENEFITS they will get from implementing your advice is crucial.
Instead of having a button that reads "sign up" You should change it to something a bit more urgent like "Get Instant Access" - "Let Me In" or something a bit more subtle like "continue..." which implies that they are simply making a easy transition.

I'm no expert on copy, or squeeze page design but using the tips I gave you for guidance will improve your conversions. It's also good to test things out for yourself when it comes to marketing and conversions. It may take a little bit more time now, but it will save you a boatload of time further down the line.

Oh yeah, put your opt-in above the fold

  • Hi Aheil, I suggest you to throw away your squeeze page and rebuild it with a ready template, centered, rich, colorful and customized with a good image and an awesome optin form.

If you check for squeeze pages, or video squezze pages here on Warrior Forum, you will find awesome templates to be used simply and without efforts.
This is my point of view

    See you soon,

Vikky asked why you did not have a name field in your form so that you can personalize your emails. There has been much debate about this and although I do have a name field in my forms I never personalize and there is good reason for this. some people will type in a phoney name and give their real address.

What do you think happens when you personalize and one of your subscribers receives a future email from you that reads like this. "Hi Jack Meoff, today I would like to....", or "Butthead you got to see this new.....".

They probably won't remember that they used that name and get offended and opt-out, just my finds from my own split testing.
Hmm yeah I want to get rid of the tabs and footer and all that stuff just to leave the content, but I can't figure out how to turn all that stuff off on just one page.

Brilliant! I agree its a debatable topic, and when I send out emails I don't personalise them everytime.

Get rid of all of the distractions on your site. Turn it into a true squeeze page and eliminate the links, tabs, low information... and add about 7 bullet points stating the benefits of signing up to your newsletter, then insert your opt-in form right under it. Since you're using Aweber, consider adding a hover ad to capture more subscribers.

Hi, I seen your squeeze page. Basically on a squeeze page you want a headline and a optin box THAT'S IT. This is advice coming form Russell Brunson and I use it and my squeeze pages convert. My highest converting squeeze page is a image of Russell Brunson holding a check and underneath a optin box. Also Deagan Smith (who gets like 65% optins) say people approach squeeze pages like a thirsty deer. Deers are very skiddish and the least little thing that not right will scare right will scare them off. They are thirsty, they want to come and drink, but too much stuff on a page will overwhelm and scare them. it's good you only ask for an email only. Advice I use from the master millionaires.

Hi, nice effort on trying to get a squeeze page going.

It took me quite awhile to realize the value of building a list... so kudos on your efforts.

As far as trying to get rid of all the links and other distractions on your page, you may have to tinker with your theme (thesis right?) to see what kind of modifications you can make.

In your dashboard look for anything that might define how to do this.

If all else fails you may have to upload a template or create a simple page directly on your domain.

For a video tutorial on how to do this you can check this out and see if it helps.

Here are a couple of my squeeze pages you can take a look at to get some ideas...

It looks a bit watered down but not a bad start. You should also add a video - sometimes that helps to improve a squeeze page.

      hey,

so I looked at your squeeze page, Firstly I'm guessing that you did that yourself, if so well done. Not a bad attempt at all, you have a gist of putting together a squeeze page but to have one that converts you need to follow the following footsteps:

      1. Invest in a software called 'Optimize press' it saves alot of headache of you creating the layout, as it has templates of squeeze pages in the software that convert.

      2. Write an attention grabbing 'Headline' you need to grab your potential customers from the moment they land on your squeeze page.

      3. Bullet Points: sell your product with bullet points describing exactly what you product offers and how it solves the customers problem.

      4. Write up exactly telling the customer what to do next.

      5. Have an image of your product/newsletter this will help give more assurance to the customer on what they will expect.

      6. A clear call to action: A simple call to action clearly telling your customers where to enter their details and what to enter.

      7. The call to action should be above the fold, i.e. above the bottom of your monitor screen.

      8. Keep it simple: but make sure that your product solves the customers problem and in the bullet points make sure you sell the solutions to their problems.

From just doing the above you should have a good converting page. But seriously save yourself time and invest in 'Optimize press' its built to convert

    Hello Aheil,

Here are a few alterations you might need to consider, to make your squeeze page look better:
    1. Your squeeze page is what it is: A Squeeze Page. So, you should have only the squeeze page there... not any menus or anything else... so that your visitor does not get distracted.
    2. Put a picture. Get a picture of a fat guy or girl when he was fat and when he/she is slim and post them on your squeeze page.
    3. Try customizing your aweber form.
    4. Try customizing your background. Darker color in the background makes people concentrate only on the squeeze page and not on the background.
    5. Change your headline. Use a combination of colors in your headline. Since it is the 'Weight Loss' niche, consider including words like 'Easiest, Simplest, Laziest, Fastest' in your headline. Make your headline in blue color, include this words in the headline and make these words alone Red.
    6. Partition your screen vertically, so that your text and opt-in form or text and picture or video and opt-in form go side by side.
    7. Include a video if possible.
    8. Give strong reasons why someone should purchase your product.
    9. Don't tell what your product's features, but its benefits.
PM me if more information is required...
